Children’s Nutrition

I’m really pleased to share that I’ve recently completed my studies in Children’s Nutrition!

This has been such a valuable extension of my knowledge, covering:

• Nutrition from fertility & preconception through pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Feeding and nutritional needs from newborns through to teenagers
• Supporting common childhood nutrition concerns and obesity
• Practical case studies to strengthen real-life consulting skills

What I love most about this area is how much impact simple nutritional changes can have during these early years, not just for growth and development, but for long-term health.

This study allows me to better support families at every stage. From preparing for pregnancy, right through to raising healthy, thriving children.

As always, my focus is on keeping things practical, realistic, and tailored to real life.

I’m so excited to finally share this…

I’ve officially completed my studies in Children’s Nutrition: from preconception right through to adolescence 🎉

This has been something I’ve been working on behind the scenes, alongside running my business, teaching and mum life. I’m so proud and excited to now bring this knowledge into Simply Nutritional.

Hair Test Results

This week has been a big hair testing results week here at Simply Nutritional!

I’ve been reviewing several client reports and it’s always fascinating to see the insights these tests can provide. Sometimes ongoing symptoms like fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, skin concerns or trouble with weight can be linked to underlying nutrient deficiencies or stress within the body.

Hair testing can provide a detailed look at areas that may need support, including:

• Hormone and Organ function (such as liver, thyroid and adrenals)
• Food and environmental sensitivities
• Vitamins, minerals and amino acids

The results give us a helpful starting point to understand what the body may be needing. From there, I work with clients to create a personalised plan using simple nutritional changes, lifestyle support and targeted supplementation.

A quiet moment, a cup of tea and something new to learn!

I’ve always loved learning. Not just professionally, but as part of who I am. It keeps me curious, grounded and constantly evolving.

When I think about it, that love of learning runs deep in my family. My grandma was still studying and teaching well into her 90s, running the University of the Third Age. Learning isn’t something you grow out of, it is a way to stay engaged, purposeful and connected.

So whether it’s nutrition, health or understanding how our bodies actually work, I’m always reading, learning and refining. Not because I have to but because I truly love it!

You don’t need a new year to start looking after your health, but sometimes it gives us the nudge we need!

January often brings big promises, strict rules and “all-or-nothing” thinking. And while the calendar changing doesn’t magically change our habits, it can offer a moment to pause, reflect and reset.

If you’ve set a New Year’s resolution around your health, I want you to know that it doesn’t have to be extreme, it doesn’t have to be perfect and it definitely doesn’t have to start on a Monday

Real, lasting change comes from small and simple nutritional changes that fit into real life. This means fitting into your busy schedule, family meal preferences, work stress and all.

Maybe this “fresh start” looks like:
• eating a proper breakfast instead of running on coffee
• adding more protein and fibre to your meals
• drinking more water
• planning ahead just a little more
• or finally putting your health back on the priority list
And if you didn’t make a resolution at all, that’s okay too. You’re not behind. You can start today, tomorrow, or whenever you’re ready.

Health isn’t about a date on the calendar.
It’s about choosing yourself, one small step at a time.

You don’t need a new year to start looking after your health, but sometimes it gives us the nudge we need!
