The team have stopped for smoko to have a gas bag and share a laugh, a moment to talk Aussie slang with our UWA students Yang and Katherine and chitter chatter about the long weekend ahead.

Our office will be closed from 4.30pm this afternoon and will re-open again on Tuesday 7th April at 8.30am.

Be safe on the roads, look after each other and take a moment to rest and enjoy this long-weekend.

Today was the Easter trivia quiz day at Pardelup Prison Farm. It was a day of joy, fun, humour, serious moments of quiet and concentration, competitiveness and overall happiness.

Pivots Reintegration team including Kerryn, Kyrra and Amanda collaborated with the Department of Justice teams in Education and Recreation to deliver such a positive event.

CEO Moira Watson with Co-Managers Guillaume Tollec and Kelly Martin joined in this team event with UWA Social Work Masters students Katherine and Yang. It was a real privilege to be part of this collaboration.

The loss of power has not stopped us, while it was dark and our door system was down, we have provided emergency food relief this morning.

With the cold weather predicted we also have plenty of beanies and jackets. Drop in at 121 Aberdeen Street for support.

The power is back and we are here for community.

Albany is set to join the WA Alliance to End Homelessness’ Advance to Zero initiative this year, giving local organisations better support to tackle homelessness in the community.

Our team are reaching out to our Community for targeted support, specifically in relocating. For over 20 years Pivot have walked alongside Albany and the Great Southern community members who have experienced disadvantage through homelessness, financial disadvantage, prisoner reintegration and much more.

Now we ask our community for help. The funding we receive is directed straight back to community; therefore, we are looking at alternative and diverse funding streams to support the direct costs of moving location.

We are fundraising specifically to cover the costs of moving: bond, advance rent, removalist and transport costs, accessibility improvements, IT setup, and basic fit out of a safe, welcoming new premises. This will allow us to safeguard every dollar of our current service funding for those who need it most, while securing a stable home for the future.
