Narrative in Art Therapy refers to art made during therapy sessions (sometimes and in this case by the therapist) that tells a story helping reveal deeper meanings and threads of client experiences. Posted with permission, this art process was initiated with a photograph that was traced onto tissue paper, then painted over allowing it to seep onto the butcher’s paper underneath. Then crayons, pens and smudging added as the narrative expanded in response to and alongside the image making.
