Tips to keep cool during this heatwave!

☑️Use air conditioning if available to maintain a comfortable temperature indoors
☑️Wear light, loose-fitting clothes
☑️Avoid being outdoors in the hottest part of the day as much as possible
☑️Close curtains and blinds to block out the sun
☑️Spend time in the coolest area of your home
☑️Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water regularly
☑️Take time to rest and recover after the heat has passed
☑️Check in on family, friends and neighbours
☑️Keep pets out of the heat and ensure access to water

We are thrilled to announce that we have a new doctor! Welcome Dr Lisa Hughes to the team! 👏👩‍⚕️

Dr Hughes has been a General Practitioner practicing primarily in Rotorua, New Zealand for over 25 years. She has had previous medical training in Australia and in England, in addition to her training in New Zealand.

Dr Hughes has further post-graduate qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and in Paediatrics. She is also currently the Clinical Editor for HealthPathways, New Zealand and is a member of the Rotorua Area Primary Health Service.

Outside of work, Dr Hughes enjoys the outdoors - backpacking, hiking and skiing. ⛷⛺️
