AWAHS has some great news about our annual Breast Screening Day!

111 Aboriginal women screened at the event, including 40 women who screened for the first time!

Albury is amongst NSW top-performing local government areas for participation, with 60% of Aboriginal women aged 50-74 being up-to-date with screening (compared to a state average of 46%).

Our younger group of women aged 40-50 – who we’ve only targeted in recent years – we’ve achieved 48% participation (compared to a state average of 21%).

This is a great outcome! We hope to keep increasing our numbers each year!

🚨An Australia wide recall of 5 batches of Nestlé’s ALFAMINO infant formula for babies with milk allergies has been issued due to potential presence of the toxin cereulide.

The affected batches can be found by the link below
https://www.foodstandards.gov.au/food-recalls/recall-alert/nestle-alfamino-infant-formula-0-12-months-400g

Batch codes on the base of the tin or box for powdered formulas or the base of the outer box and on the container for ready to feed formulas.

No other ALFAMINO batches or products in Australia or New Zealand are affected by this
recall.

If further specialist advice is required, contact the child’s treating physician. If the
specialist is not available, GPs can be linked into specialist advice through virtualKIDS
via HealthDirect on 1800 022 222.

Australian Skin Cancer Foundation have something deadly to share with us!!! Here's what they've said on their website!

We've taken our mission to save lives from skin cancer to the next level in June 2023, we launched our first mobile Skin Check Truck. In December 2025, the first day of Summer, December 1, we launched our second skin check truck which is a mobile clinic including a biopsy room, and a world first 3D WB360 Vectra skin check machine.

These groundbreaking initiatives provide free Skin Checks to communities who otherwise may not be able to access a similar service, while further educating them on skin cancer and how to take preventative measures.

Our Skin Check Trucks are fully equipped mobile clinics bringing free, professional skin cancer checks directly to communities across Australia. By travelling to towns, workplaces, events, and remote areas, we’re breaking down barriers to early detection and making skin health checks accessible to everyone - no matter where you live.
