‼️ Thank you everyone for supporting the 2025 Albury Show! ‼️
The Albury Show Society would like to give special thanks to a great number of people who helped make this event happen:
📖 James Fallon high school students (pictured), with teachers Jo Kirkby and Alex McMaster - we had 20 school students come over on Thursday afternoon and help clean chairs and tables, clean our Cattle Pavilion and put out fresh straw, put out wheelie bins and portable grandstands, and so much more. The enthusiasm and willingness to get in and have a go was absolutely amazing and our very small committee is very grateful to you all. We also had Jo and some students help pick up litter all through the weekend, which made the Sunday clean up much better than last year - a huge thank you here, our committee was absolutely amazed by you all.
🚮 Apex emptied our wheelie bins again this year and did a fantastic job - it’s not a fun job, and these guys are invaluable to us
🎟️ Rotary handled all of our gates this year again, and did a fantastic job. We moved into some online ticketing and they took on the challenge of new software systems like champs!
🐄 🐎 Our Cattle and Horse exhibitors supported us well this year, and we had the help of some great judges and stewards to not only judge the competition, but give our exhibitors great constructive feedback that they can take away to continue growing their skills
🥇Rita and Stephen from our Group 8 executive, that helped organise and present our winners for our Junior Paraders, and Rita and her son Chris also gave us a lend of their livestock scanner for our NLIS reporting (and helped us with the tedious job of uploading all the cattle information)🌟
🐐 🐍 Old Kentucky Animal Nursery and Wow Reptile Encounters - the kids loved you guys so thank you for coming!
🌹 🖼️ Our Horticulture and Arts and Crafts pavilions were also very well supported with entries this year, and the quality of work in these departments were fantastic - thanks also to our judges, Kaye Holster and the Horticultural Society assisting with setup, the Red Cross trauma teddies ladies, Jamieson from Bunnings, Ken Wilson and Joshua Cozens donating to the disability support category, and our Bonsai workshop organisers
🎇 Andrew and Sonia Agrotis of Xplosive Entertainment - what a fantastic show, we are incredibly lucky to have them giving us such a great show in Albury (and how about that finale last night?!)
🔥 Thurgoona fire brigade - these guys come every year for our fireworks to make sure we’re safe if the worst happens, and they also help our fireworks technicians clean up all the shells on the arena afterward - what a great organisation!
🛻 Gary Baxter and the team from Trackskill V8s - these guys were great to watch, and it was awesome to see the crowd get involved as passengers in the relay races!
🏥 St Johns - first aid is critical at the Show, so thank you!
👮♀️ Albury Police - you guys come every year to make sure we’re all safe and it’s very much appreciated!
🪓 North East Border Axemans association - it was so great to have the Woodchop back, and these guys organised everything wonderfully. They also had an MC that explained what was happening in the competition, so everyone could follow along, which we love!
🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♀️ Our committee - there are very few committee members at the Albury Show Society, and we’re all volunteers. Karen and John in the Arts and Crafts, Gwen and Des in the Horticulture, Jill and Peter in the Cattle, Joan David and Ken in the Jelbart, Vanessa in the office, Kevin in the horse arena, and Ryan and Hannah as our floaters helping everyone in all aspects of the show - the show would not be possible without you all
🎁 We also had a couple of non-committee member helpers - Karen and Brendan all the way from Moree, Maree and Angus from Wodonga, and Yvonne from Howlong - thank you so much for your help, you were all incredible!
💡 Ross from Albury Sound and Lighting - he knows the Showground like the back of his hand, and makes show days an absolute breeze, thank you!
⚡️ Steve Takle from Takle Electrical - thank you for coming out and fixing some power boxes - you guys averted a crisis!
📞 Suzi from the Showground Trust was on call all weekend in case we had any issues from keys not working, to water pipes bursting, to everything in between - so thank you!
👏🏻 and Lastly to our fantastic sponsors - Albury City Council, Margaret Pierce, Lowes Petroleum, NSW Farmers, and Nutrien Paull and Scollard, CWA, Finnemore Family, Albury Harness Racing, Off the Track, Fiona Forges, and Shavamore Park just to name a few!
There are so many people that gave up their time, shedding blood sweat and tears to put together this huge event for the community, so thank you (and if I’ve missed anyone, please know that we all still appreciate you, but we’re all running on fumes this afternoon!).
Thank you all from the top of our sunburned heads to the bottom of our blistered feet!
