There is no such thing as true Balance as a point that stays fixed in time, not in handstands or our health! 😄

In Ayurveda, tue concept of Swasthya is the state of harmony in our body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Swasthya is not fixed. It is dynamic.

Sadly, we're constantly fed the idea that one superfood, a new diet or magic pill, or one amazing practitioner will 'fix us' and make us well.

How disempowering.

You know, & I know, that we humans are way more complex than that!

There is no one fix. There is no one person who will solve our problems, health or otherwise.

The heart of Swasthya (and Ayurveda), is that we create a deep inner knowledge about our own unique self and live in harmony with Nature and our own nature.

Most of us in the Western world have so much at our fingertips...

We're privileged to be able to buy tools for our Health online, in shops and from professionals.

But many of us don't understand the language of our body… the how and what it's try to communicate to through our symptoms.

There’s something I wish every woman understood about her hormones…

They don’t begin in your ovaries.
They begin in your gut 🌿

In Ayurveda, we speak about Rasa , the body’s first tissue her juice or sap,, created from what you digest and absorb. It’s the nourishing essence that feeds every cell… including your hormones.

So the quality of your hormones is only ever as good as the quality of your Rasa.

And that depends on:
– your gut lining
– your digestion (agni)
– your daily habits
- and stress levels.

When digestion is strong and your gut is supported, your body creates clean, nourishing Rasa… and everything downstream benefits, including your hormones.

But when digestion is sluggish, stressed, or out of rhythm, this can show up as:
- hormonal imbalances & more intense perimenopause symptoms
– fatigue, brain fog, low mood
- cellulite

And although I have my first head cold in at least 2 years, I'm so glad to be here! Its the perfect place to rest and be in nature and when i can breathe again.. enjoy yoga!

Magic happens when we slow down ✨️✨️✨️

I was reminded of this over the weekend while celebrating my birthday with my sister, my daughter (it was her birthday too!) and dear friends in the little seaside town of Normanville at the gorgeous beachhouse

We swam, walked (well… I hobbled with my broken toe 😅), sang in circle, played games, laughed, shared delicious food and simply were together.

Nothing dramatic. Nothing extraordinary.

And yet… it was deeply special.

The kind of quiet magic that fills your cup in ways you only notice when you pause long enough to feel it.

Like the owl who visited us on our last night 🌙

I’m naturally someone who moves fast and gets things done. For many years, that led me to burnout, feeling unwell, and living as though I was skimming across the surface of my own life.

Over the last decade, and especially through perimenopause, I’ve learned to recognise that pattern and gently bring myself back into my body.

Back into presence and connection, into my Feminine rather than always operating from my masculine which is depleting.

And life feels so much richer.

If you’ve been feeling rushed, disconnected or like you’re always thinking about the next thing on your to-do list… may this be a reminder that slowing down is not a luxury.

It’s where the good stuff lives! ✨

Newberries and beetroot smoothie recipe for these cooler Autumn mornings 🍂🍁

Great for the blood...
Blood cleansing, managing blood pressure, strength of veins, and supporting good digestion for clear skin and vitality!

1 small beetroot peeled cubed or grated and steamed.

2 handfuls of frozen blueberries (spray free from the farmers market!) defrosted in the beetroot cooking water.

Half a small to medium avocado

2 handfuls of spinach or kale leaves 🍃

2 -3 dates to sweeten

1 inch k**b of fresh ginger peeled

1 to 1.5 cups of hot water (Yes hot to make your Agni happy!) Add a little more or less to make it the consistency you like.

Optional - 1/4 tsp acai powder and or barley greens powder, and a couple of fresh dandelion leaves from your garden.

Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

Makes a delish, easy to digest, nutrient rich and satisfying breakfast

Yeas ago I made the decision not to work weekends so I could spend the time with my young family.

Suddenly, they are not so young!! 😮

One has pretty much flown the coup for travel and work, and the other is in year 12.

I do kind of miss them being so young & sweet, (well they still are young and sweet just different!) ... but I also love this stage and the freedoms and more time it gives me.

So I am happy to be opening up Saturdays for my clients and for doing what I love!

Starting this weekend I'll be in Aldgate every 2nd Saturday from 10.30am to 3pm.
