Hey HTS Family 👋🏼

Starting Monday the 3rd of November, our cafe space will be closed on Mondays and open from 9am–4pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Our community pantry remains open 24/7 and practitioner appointments will continue 7 days a week.

After a quiet winter, we’ve seen a noticeable drop in walk-by traffic and tourism, likely influenced by the ongoing algal bloom and widespread economic challenges.

While our cafe space will be closed on Mondays until sales pickup, our crisis services will still be available for those needing urgent support, with direct contact accessible through our founder, Elise. Her number will be available at the door as well as crisis resources to link you to external services of support.

One thing we are super proud of is that we are able to continue to keep pivoting while sadly so many businesses are closing their doors.

Don’t worry though, we anticipate this is temporary and we are actively working on solutions to continue expanding our services.

This includes:

✨ Fundraising initiatives to support increased community hours

✨ Renovations being completed to provide unique solution based self care experiences onsite

✨ The development of a Community Voice Committee who are actively planning and executing some exciting community engagement events in the near future

✨ Grant and philanthropic funding applications and so much more!

If you could see how much is happening behind the scenes you’d be excited too!

How you can directly help our charities cause:

➡️ Visit www.htscwc.org.au/donate to make a one-off donation, become a Community Impact Member, Sponsor, Partner or Major Funder.

🏃‍♀️Run your own community fundraiser, Christmas drive, or event to help us create pathways of support that are accessible to everyone.

🫶🏼Join our Volunteer Program

We know brighter days are ahead, both in sunshine and in support for our community. With your continued involvement, we can keep strengthening the support available to everyone who walks through our doors.

Thank you for being part of the Here’s to Strength family. Everyday we see our community come together and it’s amazing!

People helping the people is the essence of who we are and what we do ✨

Not everyone in our team is in this photo, but it perfectly captures who we are - a family. 🖤

Through every obstacle, every laugh, and every moment of showing up for one another, this team is what makes us the epitome of strength inside and out.

We appreciate you all and EVERYTHING you do!

The people behind the dream 🙏🏼

Yes - Here’s to Strength started with me (Elise) and you can absolutely go and read my story in our bio link which inspired the vision for HTS.

Right now though what I would love to do is celebrate the incredible people behind HTS leadership right now because BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING and I am so proud of the team we are building.

Not only do we have the most incredible Board of Directors who put in that extra mile every week voluntarily to lead our work from the ground up, but we also have people that LEAD WITH HEART.

Not only in our Board, but also in our incredible team behind the counter who keep the hub going everyday as well as our amazing volunteers who keep so many free initiatives going, truly creating the generous atmosphere that is community.

The exciting news? Our leadership team have been given the incredible opportunity to work with none other than the best in the biz! and who will be helping our team in November to completely reshape our charities blueprint, our internal structure and brand so that we are ready to grow and scale our solution nationwide.

I would also like to take a moment to thank the team at Regan Labs and the Fay Fuller Foundation who have helped our leadership team go from strength to strength behind the scenes, without leaders leading leaders we would all be making it up as we go.

The support I have received is absolutely astonishing and I am so grateful to my friends, my colleagues and my business mentors for helping me lead Here’s to Strength to global success.

Pay forward your kindness, life will always send you what and who you need ✨

Looking for a breakthrough? Reach out to GBBM who we collaborate with regularly to support our local men because they are doing such awesome work!

Maybe it shows up as snapping at your kids when all they wanted was your attention.
Or shutting down when your partner just wants to know what’s really going on inside.
Or sitting at the dinner table, physically there but miles away in your head.

It doesn’t mean you don’t care.
It means you’ve been carrying too much for too long — without the tools, the space, or the support to release it.

That’s where The Journey comes in.

One weekend. A safe circle of men.
A place to breathe again, to unpack the weight, and to remember how to show up with more presence, patience, and heart.

When you grow, your relationships grow.
When you find your strength again, your family feels it.

Enjoy a free coffee on us and help bring COLOUR to HTS!

Are you available this week to help dig some holes? We have over 100 plants to establish in the ground this week and we need your help. Many hands make light work and we want to build a space that is truly built BY COMMUNITY 🙏🏼

May you rest in peace beautiful Hannah.

Yesterday I found out the news that one of our young junior staff members who worked at Here’s to Strength in its first few years tragically passed away after the system that was supposed to support her, failed once again.

Hannah was a young girl with a story of great heartache and tribulation at no fault of her own. Her circumstances were unfair, unjust and opened my eyes to how many children in Australia are suffering.

Her support worker asked me to give her a go when nobody else would. She came in to work quite often with tears of anxiety from what was happening in her world but every day I worked with her I could see her light from within.

Every time she smiled it was like a flowers first bloom - magical. I made a joke of encouragement each time, “there’s that smile again” which we both laughed at with joy. A big hug from me and a smile became her safety.

The first coffee she ever made it was like she had achieved a miracle. She was so excited!

As tears run down my face hearing the news of your death Hannah I feel privileged to have known you, devastated to know you are no longer with us and comforted that you are now at peace.

Please keep Hannah in your prayers and perhaps pay forward a moment of kindness this week in honour of Hannah and every other human being who is struggling to see the beauty in this world.

Life is tough, but compassion is easy. Please make the choice of compassion. Judgement has no place here.

Be at peace beautiful girl.
🙏🏼 Elise
