Guilt closes the heart.

And it doesn’t just lock away the “bad.”
It locks away joy too.

A lot of people live with guilt as a background hum.

I should have done more.
I shouldn’t feel this.
I’m not enough.

But guilt isn’t a verdict.
It’s often a protection strategy.

The nervous system saying:
“If I punish myself first, maybe I’ll be safe.”

Try this:
Hand on heart.
Long exhale.

And say:
"I did the best I could with the information I had."

Notice what softens.

The calm you’re chasing isn’t a mood.
It’s a state.

And you can’t mindset your way into it.
If your nervous system is braced, your body will keep producing:
- tension
- racing thoughts
- irritability
- fatigue

You’re not broken.
You’re in a body that’s trying to keep you safe.

When your nervous system is overwhelmed, it tells stories.

Stories that sound like:
- They hate me.
- I’m going to lose everything.
- I’m too much.
- Something’s wrong with me.

The story is your brain scanning for the door.

So here’s the practice:
1) Name it: “I’m in a story.”
2) Come to sensation. Where is it in the body?
3) One long exhale.
4) Ask: “What is true *right now*?”

Not forever. Just now.

Your body is the map.
Not the problem.

It’s live. My new website is now up — and it feels like a truer home for this work.

I wanted it to feel the way I hope my work feels:
calm
clear
grounded
safe enough to exhale

If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know this work has never been about pushing harder or thinking your way out.

It’s about understanding what your body has been trying to say.

The new site brings that together more clearly — how I work, what I support people with, and the gentler path back to yourself.

If life looks fine on the outside but feels heavy, noisy, or disconnected on the inside, this space was made for you.

You did the best you could with the information you had.

Read that again.

Because the “should” voice is loud.

I should be over this.
I should cope better.
I shouldn’t feel like this.

But “should” is rarely truth.

It’s often your nervous system trying to control the future so you don’t feel the past.

Try this when the self-attack starts:
- One hand on heart
- One long exhale
- Say: "I did the best I could with the information I had."

Then ask:
What would support look like today?

Quick check:

Is this trauma… or is this capacity?

Sometimes you’re not traumatised.
You’re just maxed out.

Clues it’s capacity:
- you’ve been running on low sleep
- you’re dehydrated
- you’re behind on food
- you haven’t had a quiet moment in days
- your body feels tight before your mind panics

First step isn’t therapy homework.
It’s regulation.

Water.
Feet.
Breath.
One small input.

Then we go deeper.

The scariest feeling for the nervous system is:
I’m alone.

Not “I’m busy.”
Not “I’m behind.”

Alone.

Because alone used to mean:
no help.
no witness.
no safety.

So, loneliness can look like:
- anxiety
- clinginess
- shutting down
- picking fights
- scrolling until you can’t feel

If that’s you…

It’s not drama.
It’s protection.

A tiny practice:
Put one hand on your chest.
And say (out loud if you can):

"I’m with you."

Not to fix it.
To give your body what it needs.

A 60-second reset for the moments you’re about to lose it.

Not to make you “calm.”
To make you *safe enough* to choose.

1) Feet on the floor
2) Eyes on one steady point
3) Exhale longer than inhale (3 rounds)
4) Notice 3 points of contact (feet, seat, hands)

Then speak.
Then respond.

Safety before change.

Our Story

I love Kinesiology simply because of the results that I have personally achieved. I suffered for many years with headaches and working with my kinesiologist over a number of sessions across multiple areas of my life - the past pain and stresses that I was carrying forward with me, the current issues that I have and also my dreams for the future - I not only managed to ‘fix’ the daily headache pain, but I also gained huge insight into myself and my personality and understanding on my drivers and what I actually want from life.

I re-trained as a kinesiologist and I go to work each day loving what I do.

As a Holistic Kinesiologist and Mind Body Medicine therapist, I have training in a wide range of complementary therapies. If you are looking to improve your life, health and well-being, Well of Harmony may be right for you.
