At Kings Narrative we love visiting the Granites, delivering the Cross Cultural Awareness Training for Newmont Australia. Last week I delivered the training with Karl Hampton along with Warlpiri delegates Robin Granites Japenangke and Steven Collins Jungarai. Truly a privilege to be working alongside these men and all the other Warlpiri delegates who co-facilitate with us. Their stories and wisdom always fill my cup. It’s always great to see our content received with such respect and enthusiasm by the staff.

“I never knew any of this stuff before, I’ve learned a lot today.”

“This training has been the best one I’ve seen, the depth of which you go to is really needed.”

“I didn’t realise it would be this interactive, going on country was an amazing experience.”

After a week of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Uluru Handback the Uluru-Kata Tjuta, Traditional Owners along with Central Land Council invited our Business Operations Manager Kynan Barnes and Managing Director Tyson Carmody to present our proposal for Angkentye - Men’s Cultural Camps. It is always an honour and privilege to be invited by old people to any community and it is important to us that whenever old people call on you, you always show up.

Many of the old people knew of our Grandfather and Grandmother and it was beautiful to hear stories about their memories of our Pop and Nanna, especially from Mr Donald Fraser seen here in the photo with Kynan and Tyson.

We are excited to be travelling to the following communities in 2026 and 2027:

⚫️ Docker River
⚫️ Muṯitjulu
⚫️ Watarrka
⚫️ Utju
⚫️ Imanpa
⚫️ Amata
⚫️ Pukatja
⚫️ Yunyarinyi

In July this year, men gathered on Country at Apmwerre (Black Tank Outstation) for the Kings Narrative Trauma & Healing 5-Day Facilitator Training, delivered in partnership with We Al-li Programs.

This short film captures the spirit of that journey.

In July 2026, we’re doing it again.

Kings Narrative will once again deliver this transformative training - Recreating Songlines from Trauma Trails: The Ceremony of Indigenous Facilitation Practice.

Led by Tyson Carmody, Kynan Barnes, and Ash Dargen, this program is designed by Aboriginal men, for Aboriginal men — empowering strong facilitators to lead healing in their families, workplaces, and communities.

Spaces are limited — secure your place now.

Recently I had the privilege of participating in a trip of a lifetime with some amazing people, to visit Johannesburg in South Africa and Vilankulos in Mozambique at the invitation of Graca Machel and her organisations Graça Machel Trust and . Before I get too far however, I need to give a special thanks to Igniting Change , particularly Lydia Garrett, Radek Sali, Steve Kloss and even though she wasn’t there, Jane Tewson for making this all possible. A special thanks also to the GMT and FDC teams on the ground in Africa for holding us all with so much love and respect. This experience was an immersion of entrepreneurial and cultural exchange intersectional across race, gender and political landscapes that highlighted similarities as well as vast differences between Australia and Southern Africa. I’ve been sitting and contemplating since returning, hoping to find the words to articulate as close as possible to the feeling and impact this experience has had on me.

What I witnessed a learned resonated deeply with the work we do here at Kings Narrative, but also more broadly with this resistant movement of economic justice that is Blak business in our country, especially the NT.

A connection has formed and it cannot be unformed. To the people in South Africa and Mozambique, sanibonani, we will return again with more Blak business owners and leaders to build on this connection.

We are honoured to announce that Kings Narrative has been awarded the Indigenous Business Month Ingenuity Award for 2025.

Our Operations Manager, Kynan Barnes, accepted the award on behalf of the Kings Narrative team, sharing this reflection:

“I was humbled to accept the Indigenous Business Month award for Ingenuity on behalf of my brother Tyson and Kings Narrative. It was deadly to be a part of the event held by Indigenous Business Month and inspiring to meet other mob in business making an impact in their communities.

We believe in the power of story, and highlighting these positive stories is so important — especially when we are often shown the opposite by mainstream media. Big thanks to Indigenous Business Month for creating a platform for our businesses to be celebrated and to NITV for shining a light on the event.”

This recognition means a lot to our team — a 100% Aboriginal-employed business proudly led by Aboriginal men — who continue to deliver culturally grounded programs that empower community, heal through story, and create pathways for the next generation.

Thank you to Indigenous Business Month for celebrating the strength, creativity, and resilience of our mob in business. We are proud to stand alongside other Indigenous businesses making change across the country.

📣 Final Trauma Training Workshop for 2025 – Alice Springs

Kings Narrative is excited to announce our final Trauma Training Workshop for 2025, happening on October 8th–9th in Alice Springs!

Delivered by Arrernte facilitators, this 2-day workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to provide culturally grounded, trauma-informed care for Aboriginal young people, families, and communities.

Why attend?

In Central Australia, our communities face some of the most confronting challenges in history – intergenerational trauma, systemic racism, poverty, poor health outcomes, and high rates of incarceration and violence.

This training empowers professionals to:
✅ Understand trauma behaviours and respond in culturally appropriate ways
✅ Explore Aboriginal cultural healing practices like yarning circles and story mapping
✅ Strengthen trauma-informed practices within organisations
✅ Build strategies for self-care and minimising vicarious trauma
