In addition to this, we have developed collaborative partnerships with other health professionals in the community to ensure that your child’s needs are met through integrated goals and ongoing communication between the professionals involved. As Speech Pathologists, we assess and address the underlying reason for the difficulties that your child is experiencing. This ensures that we can provide effective therapy to develop your child’s skills to their full potential. If you have any concerns that relate to your child’s speech, language and/or learning development, please feel free to contact us to discuss this with one of our friendly, qualified staff.

Here is our Speech Therapist Kathren’s go to toy for therapy- farm animal toys! 🐖🐑🐂🐄

They are typically used for preschool concepts – naming animals, colours and number identification. This can also be used for a variety of low to high level expressive language activities targeting:

1. Prepositions (location words) – on/off, in out of, under/over or above/below, next to or beside, in front of /behind
2. Verbs (action words) – ing ending, s ending, ed ending or irregular verbs
3. Adjectives (describing words) - opposites
4. Vocabulary – baby animal names
5. Categorising – sorting into pets, farm animals, wild animals
6. Pronouns – he/she
7. Formulating sentences using conjunctions (joining words)

Low level – Pig hides in red barn. -> The pig is sitting under the red barn.
Medium level – The pig jumps out of the red barn. -> The pig jumped over the red barn.
High level – The scared kitten sat behind the red barn because he/she saw the angry cow.

Wonderful news for families and children needing speech therapy! 🎉👏🏻

From 1 March 2026, Medicare has expanded the M10 item group to include specific communication and swallowing needs.

This means more families and children may now be eligible for Medicare rebates, helping reduce the cost of accessing important therapy and support.
