Let’s talk Achilles tendon pain 👉Achilles tendon pain doesn’t usually start suddenly, it builds over time.

Here’s what to look out for:

Common signs:
• Morning stiffness
• Pain at the start of walking, running or training that eases as you warm up
• Tenderness when squeezing the tendon
• Pain after activity or the next day

What helps:
✔ Progressive calf strengthening
✔ Managing running + jumping loads
✔ Consistent rehab (not random stretching)
✔ Early treatment before it becomes stubborn

What doesn’t help:
✘ Stretching aggressively into pain
✘ Ignoring symptoms and “running through it”
✘ Complete rest for weeks without rehab
✘ Waiting until it’s been sore for months

The earlier you treat Achilles pain, the faster it settles.

If your Achilles has been sore for a few weeks (or keeps coming back), it’s time to fix the cause - not just manage the symptoms.

Welcome Celina!

Celina will be joining the team at Elite Care Physio on Monday’s and Thursday’s.

Celina graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Physiotherapy and brings a thoughtful, patient-centred approach to care.

She has a special interest in Clinical Pilates, TMJ (jaw pain) and headaches, and is qualified in dry needling.

She enjoys treating all injuries and helping people move better and feel more confident in their bodies. She combines hands on treatment with specific rehab to help you achieve your goals.

Celina is fluent in English and Arabic, and is passionate about achieving the best outcome for her patients.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find Celina walking and hiking, getting creative, exploring new places and spending time with her church community.

We’re so excited to have Celina join our team, bookings are now open as of April 30th March.

Meet Wasim 👋

Wasim is the founder of Elite Care Physio & Performance and a Master’s-qualified Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist.

Alongside his clinical work, he is part of the Western Bulldogs VFL medical team and enjoys working with athletes, active individuals and post-surgical patients using evidence-based rehab, hands-on treatment and structured rehabilitation programs.

His aim is to provide fast-tracked, elite-level rehabilitation to the western suburbs, bringing high-performance standards normally seen in professional sport into everyday care.
