Weight loss is often sold as the reason to exercise.
But research and real-world experience tell us it’s not what keeps people moving long term.

When the scale drives exercise, motivation tends to fade when:

We’re excited to welcome Jemma, who brings a strong background in clinical exercise, rehabilitation-focused training, reformer Pilates, and movement quality — paired with a calm, supportive coaching style that helps people feel confident and capable in their bodies.

With over 6 years’ experience across clinical and group-based settings, Jemma is currently completing her Masters in Accredited Exercise Physiology, with a passion for supporting older adults and women across pre/post-natal and pre/post-menopausal stages through evidence-based resistance training.

Her sessions are precise, encouraging, and tailored, with a strong focus on rebuilding confidence in movement and achieving meaningful, long-term outcomes.

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Ryan! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Ryan Coonan, our newest Accredited Exercise Scientist and Young Athlete Development Coach here at Fortify Movement & Health.

Ryan brings over 10 years of representative sport experience, including competing in Victorian Premier Cricket with Footscray Cricket Club, and five years of coaching junior and representative athletes. His background in youth sport, movement development, and skill coaching adds incredible value to our team and community.

What truly sets Ryan apart is his empathy and lived experience. After recovering from two knee surgeries since 2024, he understands the challenges young athletes face—physically and mentally. His coaching style is supportive, patient, and focused on building confidence, coordination, and strength in young people.

Ryan’s blend of high-level sport experience, youth coaching expertise, and person-centred approach enhances our mission to help individuals move better, feel stronger, and build long-term confidence in their bodies.

Our Story

Life presents us with many challenges which shape who we are today. After achieving my own goals with the help of a mentor and personal trainer, I was inspired to help others. I knew that with a holistic approach to health and fitness was the way to go. I had a great toolkit to help other people achieve their goals in the same way that I had been helped by others. Since completing my training I have worked with a range of clients; covering weight loss, general health and fitness, strength and conditioning. I have also worked with allied health professionals such as osteopaths and physiotherapists to help people suffering from back pain – a common ailment amongst those of us who work in an office during the week. Commitment Coach welcomes people from all walks of life. If you are young, old or gender diverse; Matt is here to assist you to achieve your health and fitness goals. Matt brings a holistic approach to personal training; working with clients of all ages to achieve the right mindset to achieve your health and fitness goals. Training sessions are tailored to each client’s needs, whilst keeping a focus on having fun.
