On Sunday, we had the pleasure of interviewing five outstanding candidates for the roles of Junior Club Captain and Junior Vice Captain at Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club. Each nominee brought their unique perspectives and fresh ideas, showcasing the bright future of our junior ranks. The interview panel was composed of Club Captain Greg Williams, Youth Director Callum Mercer, 2025 Youth Lifesaver of the Year Michael Scott, and our outgoing Junior Club Captain Kendall Griffiths. Their combined experience and insights ensured a thorough evaluation of each candidate. The Junior Club Captain and Junior Vice Captain play vital roles within our community, providing leadership and inspiration to their peers and younger Nippers. They serve as a direct link to the senior club, fostering a sense of unity and continuity. We are excited to announce that Tom Schmahl has been nominated as Junior Club Captain, with Delilah Davis stepping into the role of Junior Vice Captain for the 2026/27 season. Both Tom and Delilah have demonstrated exceptional dedication and enthusiasm, and we look forward to seeing how they will lead and inspire our junior members in the coming year. Congratulations to Tom and Delilah! Let’s make this season unforgettable!

Be sure to wear your ‘Red & Yellow’ tomorrow! ❤️💛

To recognise the 200,000 members who dedicate their time and service, SLSA is granting special permission for active members to wear their patrol shirt on the 4th of March in support of Red & Yellow Day. Be sure to read the terms and conditions in the link below so you’re across the guidelines!

Visibility of the uniform throughout our communities helps raise awareness of the incredible volunteer effort behind Surf Life Saving. It is an opportunity for people to ask questions, show appreciation, and learn more about the movement and the importance of swimming between the flags.

Let’s all act together on March 4 for Red & Yellow Day ❤️💛
