A: We understand that school suspensions can happen at the most inconvenient times. Fortunately, we offer respite services to help support your family during these challenging moments. Our team can provide support workers for as long as you need, either in-home or at our respite facility. Please note that the minimum care duration is 3 hours.

Sleep is vital for everyone, especially teens, as it supports their growth and well-being. Teen sleep issues often come from different factors that vary from person to person. They can improve their sleep by checking and improving their sleep environment and habits.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻:

✔️ Aim for 8 hours of sleep every night, including weekends.
✔️Follow a calming pre-bed routine to help you relax.
✔️Skip caffeine and energy drinks in the afternoon and evening.
✔️Turn off electronics and keep them silent at least 30 minutes before bed.
✔️Use a comfortable mattress and pillow.
✔️Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet.

FAQ: How do we book community participation activities?

Here are some steps to follow:
1. Visit our website and download the Participant Intake Form and the Participant RIsk Assessment
2. Fill in the Contact Form and upload your finished PDF documents.
3. Click on Send Message.
4. We will review your information and provide access to our booking system.

Like many parents, Kelly also struggled accessing services to meet her children’s diverse needs. In particular, finding a behaviour support practitioner with experience in autism, ADHD and specific mental health needs. After waiting a year to find one for her children, Kelly decided to study to become a positive behaviour support practitioner herself.

Andrew and Kelly also had a vision to be able to provide services to youth with similar struggles as their children. They are now registered providers under the NDIS to deliver a range of services.

Need Some Time Off?

Allow us to provide the rest you need and the quality care your loved one deserves!

Taking a well-deserved break is possible with our Respite Program for your young person and your family. This program is available for 12- 18 year old participants and runs from 4pm Friday to 4pm Sunday.
We provide all meals, snacks and activities and we do a lot of different activities over a respite weekend. We aim to provide 1 activity or outing on Saturday and we will do something on Sunday morning. Activities include: drive-in, movies, archery, bowling etc and we adjust the program to suit those in care.

FAQ: How do you support participants with different needs?

A: To facilitate mixed groups, there is at least one staff member awake overnight. We are able to provide respite for up to 6 teens. We will work with you to facilitate participant’s cultural, religious, gender (binary/non binary) preferences or food requirements as much as possible. We work hard to match our participants with staff and with other participants to create a harmonious and supportive respite relationship.
