Join us in welcoming Zoe, our new Exercise Physiologist!

A passionate advocate for movement as a tool for physical and mental wellbeing. A Canberra local with global experience, Zoe’s journey began as an elite gymnast, taking her all the way to Boise State University in the U.S., where she competed as a collegiate athlete while completing her undergraduate and Masters degrees in Exercise Science.

Zoe’s career has been deeply shaped by her own transition out of high-level sport, a time that sparked her love for hatha yoga and inspired her to become a certified instructor. On returning to Australia, she became an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and later completed a PhD in Exercise Physiology, publishing four papers on the benefits of Bikram yoga for stressed and sedentary adults.

Zoe brings with her a thoughtful, compassionate approach to health and movement. She's especially passionate about building confidence through safe, accessible movement, supporting women through perimenopause and menopause, health behaviour change that actually sticks and using movement to down-regulate the nervous system and support mental health.

She’s also a big believer in preventing injury by addressing patterns of tension and helping people move more freely and joyfully, no matter their age, experience or background.

We’re so excited to have Zoe on the team! Be sure to say hi next time you see her!

Try these simple sleep wellness tips to improve your sleep quality and feel your best every day 💤

1. Move your body: Physical activity increases sleep drive, reduces anxiety, and helps you fall asleep more easily.
2. Avoid going to bed feeling too full or too hungry: Going to bed too full can cause discomfort and poor sleep, while going to bed too hungry can make it harder to fall and stay asleep.
3. Establish a relaxing evening routine: Relaxing activities like reading or meditation help reduce stress and ease the transition to sleep.
4. Spend time in natural light: Exposure to natural light, especially in the morning, helps set your body’s internal clock.
5. Avoid caffeine late in the day: Caffeine can stay in your system for hours, so drinking it too late can make it harder to fall and stay asleep.
6. Lower light, lower noise, lower temps: These conditions help promote deeper, more restorative sleep.
7. Keep a consistent sleep-wake routine: Creating a routine for your internal clock can help you fall asleep faster and wake up more refreshed.
8. Keep your bed for rest and connection only: If you work, scroll, or watch TV in bed, your brain starts linking the space to alertness and stimulation instead of sleep.
