Dr Neil Ferguson is a UK and Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. Having completed his orthopaedic specialist training in London and the SE of England. Dr Ferguson moved to Australia to undergo further sub-specialist training (fellowships) in hip and knee surgery. After 3 years of fellowships, he then took up a permanent consultant position in Armidale in 2016.

Since being in Armidale Dr Ferguson has built up a busy practice, performing around 250 joint replacements per year. He embraces the latest technology to provide the very best service to his patients and is very proud to be the first (and currently only) surgeon in regional NSW to have the ground breaking Mako robot to help in performing hip and joint replacements.

Dr Ferguson performs surgery at both Armidale Rural Referral Hospital and Armidale Private Hospital.

Dr Raj graduated with an MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Belgaum, India in 1995. He completed post-graduate surgical training from the same institute in 1999. Dr Raj obtained MRCSEd from The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, UK in 2001. He also did higher surgical training in the Northern Ireland and Scotland region and completed his exit exam to obtain FRCS General Surgery in 2009. Dr Raj worked as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in United Kingdom, then moved to Australia in 2013 and successfully completed his Australian Fellowship in 2015.

Dr Raj has provided surgical services to Armidale and the surrounding communities since 2013.
At Armidale Specialist Centre, Dr Raj is happy to see both public and privately insured patients and arrange their surgical care either at the Public Hospital or Armidale Private Hospital.

Dr Nihal Nanda
Consultant Physician
Specialising in Diabetes/Endocrinology/Geriatric Medicine

Dr Nanda came to Australia in 2001 from Bangalore south India. Retrained in the Australian health system and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2013.

During his years of training he has been fortunate to work at some of the larger tertiary centres in Sydney, in particular St Vincent’s and Westmead as well as numerous other metropolitan hospitals. During this time, Dr Nanda gained a wealth of experience in the NSW health system which has been invaluable to his career.

After arriving in Armidale in February 2012, he immediately felt connected with the community. Because of this, it was an easy decision to stay and set up his own private practice.

Dr Nanda also holds outreach clinics in Inverell and Tenterfield for the older and less mobile patients.
