Not every win is a big one.

Sometimes it’s getting out of the house
Trying something new
Or just having a good day 👍

We see these moments every day
And they matter more than people realise

What’s a small win you’ve had lately?

We’re proud to be part of the New England community!

Every day, our team supports people across Armidale, Uralla, Guyra and Tamworth to live more independent, connected and confident lives.

Being local means we understand the community, the people, and what good support should look like.

We love what we do, and we’re proud to do it here.

The difference is the people.

Good support doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes from having the right team, the right attitude, and people who genuinely care about the work they do.

At NESS, we’re proud of the team we’ve built.
People who show up, look out for each other, and always put our participants first.

That’s what makes the real difference.

Good support isn’t just turning up.

Good support means listening.
It means patience.
It means knowing when to step in, and when to step back.

At NESS, we believe the right support worker can make a huge difference in someone’s confidence, independence, and quality of life.

That’s why we focus on matching the right people, not just filling shifts.

What do you think makes a great support worker?

Friday afternoons done right 👍

Our Friday social group kicked off this afternoon with a game of tennis before heading back to the Armidale Hub for pizza and a movie night.

These afternoons are all about getting out, staying active, building friendships, and finishing the week on a good note.

We love seeing everyone relax, have fun, and enjoy time together.

What’s your perfect Friday afternoon?

📸 Meet the Team – Sam

We’d like to introduce Sam, one of our awesome support workers here at NESS!

Sam loves helping clients work towards their goals, whether it’s something big like chasing a dream or just the small everyday wins. He enjoys being part of the day-to-day support too, from helping with meals and personal care to getting out into the community or teaching new skills that make life easier and more enjoyable.

He’s passionate about listening to people’s stories and supporting them with real care, compassion and respect. Sam puts a lot of value on family and always tries to treat everyone the way he would want to be treated, with kindness, empathy and basic decency.

Outside of work, sport is a huge part of Sam’s life. He loves basketball, follows the NRL closely, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. He’s also got a bit of a collection hobby, with coins, basketball cards and NRL trading cards keeping him busy when he’s not on shift.

We’re lucky to have you on the team, Sam 👏

Not every good day needs a big headline.

Sometimes it is a coffee in town.
A laugh in the car on the way back.
Or finally beating the puzzle that’s been sitting on the table all week.

These are the moments that build confidence, independence, and connection.

And honestly… they are our favourite part of the job.

What small win has made your week better so far?

Today is International Wheelchair Day and Zero Discrimination Day.

Two important reminders of something we believe every single day.

Mobility aids are not limitations.
They are tools for independence.

And disability is not something that should ever come with judgement, barriers or exclusion.

Here in the New England Region, we see strength, personality, humour and goals first. Not labels.

Everyone deserves access.
Everyone deserves respect.
Everyone deserves to feel included.

Let’s keep building a New England community where difference is welcomed, not judged.

💬 What does inclusion mean to you?

🌟 Meet the Team – Chantelle 🌟

We’re excited to introduce one of our wonderful support workers, Chantelle!

Chantelle says what she enjoys most about her role is helping people find their way in the world and really getting to know each person so she can support them in the way that works best for them. Since moving to Armidale just four months ago, she’s loved becoming part of our team and the wider local community.

📚 She’s passionate about reading and literacy, and believes that reading widely helps build empathy, understanding and critical thinking. We couldn’t agree more.

Fun fact? It’ll come as no surprise that she loves to read, but she also enjoys writing, poetry, theatre, travelling… and spending time with her beautiful border collie, Bonnie 🐾

We’re so grateful to have Chantelle as part of the NESS team!

Sometimes people think disability support is just about shifts, funding and rosters.

For us, it’s about something much bigger.

It’s about helping someone feel confident going to the shops on their own.
It’s about celebrating the small wins that don’t always make headlines.
It’s about families knowing they’re not carrying everything alone.

That’s why we do what we do.

If you’ve ever trusted us to support you or your family, thank you. It means more than you know.
