An estimated 75% of people with eating disorder experience a toxic "inner voice" or constant mental noise.

This voice can feel like an intruder or bully, telling you what to eat, how to behave tying yourself worth to weight or shape and can make it difficult to find quiet or mental space.

But you're not weak for experiencing this and you're not alone.

If you find you're struggling contact Headspace Armidale for support.

As high school ends, a lot of people start new jobs, courses, gap years, or move away. Friend groups shift, routines disappear, and suddenly everyone seems to be “moving forward” in different directions.
That can bring up a lot of “FOMO” the feeling that you’re falling behind, missing out, or not doing life “right”.

Social media can make it louder too. You see new cities, new mates, new inside jokes… and it can feel like you’ve already missed something important.

But the truth is…
Almost no one really knows what they’re doing right now. Everyone is just figuring it out as they go.

It’s okay if you don’t have a clear plan yet.

It’s okay if you’re changing your mind.

And it’s okay if your next step looks different to everyone else’s.💚

The new year often tells us success should be a straight line.
Reality looks different.
Progress can be messy, uneven, and full of detours but that’s still progress.
Setbacks don’t mean you’re failing, they’re just part of learning and Reaching out for support can make the road feel a little less noisy.
New year. Same compassion for yourself. đź’š

05/01/2026

As the new year begins, it’s easy to feel pressure to change your body, your habits, or who you are, like a “new you” is something you should be aiming for.

But a new year doesn’t have to mean a new body, a smaller body, or a more “acceptable version of yourself. Your body isn’t a project that needs fixing. It’s the place that you live and move through the world from and it deserves care and respect, just as it is

Body positivity isn’t about loving your body all the time. It’s about recognising that your worth isn’t tied to how you look, what you weigh or how productive you are. This year can be about listening to your body, being kinder to yourself and letting go of unrealistic expectations.

If the start of the year brings up tough feelings around body image, food, or self-esteem, you’re not alone and support is available, headspace is here to help you talk it through at your own pace. 💚
