RECEPTIONIST – SATURDAY MORNINGS & LEAVE COVER
Join our professional and friendly team.

We are seeking a reliable, well-presented Receptionist to join our team for Saturday mornings and leave cover. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet clients upon arrival
• Professionally manage incoming calls and appointment bookings
• Provide day-to-day support to Physiotherapists
• Complete filing, scanning and faxing tasks
• Maintain cleanliness of the practice
• Assist with general office duties as required

Requirements:

• Team player who is reliable and flexible, with a strong “can-do” approach
• Well-groomed with a professional and friendly phone manner
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to multi-task
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Must be available for Saturday mornings, leave backfill and school holiday hours

Hours:
8:00am – 12:30pm every Saturday, plus additional to cover leave.

Experience is preferred but not essential — full training will be provided to the right applicant.

The Healthwise Physio team traded in their scrubs for gowns last night at the Black and Gold Health Services Gala Ball 🖤💛

It was an incredible evening celebrating our local health professionals — a chance to swap clinic talk for dance floor moves and toast to another year of caring for our community. 🥂

☀️Things to Remember When Exercising During a Heatwave🥵

Here’s how to stay safe while still keeping active:

🌤 1. Time it right
• Exercise early morning or late evening when temperatures and UV levels are lowest.
• Avoid the 10 am–4 pm window when heat and humidity peak.

💧 2. Hydrate before, during, and after
• Pre-hydrate with water or an electrolyte drink before starting.
• Sip every 15–20 minutes while exercising, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
• Replace lost electrolytes with sports drinks, coconut water, or electrolyte tablets if you’re sweating heavily.

👕 3. Dress smart
• Wear light-coloured, loose-fitting, moisture-wicking clothes.
• Choose a breathable hat and UV-protective sunglasses and slip, slop, slap!

🌳 4. Adjust your intensity
• Heat increases the strain on your heart and muscles.
• Lower your pace, shorten sessions, or break them into smaller segments.
• Listen to your body — if you feel dizzy, nauseous, or unusually tired, stop immediately.

🏠 5. Take it indoors
• On extreme days, move your workout inside — use fans, air-conditioning, or try alternatives like yoga, Pilates, or bodyweight circuits.
• Swimming or aqua aerobics are great low-heat options.

🔄 6. Acclimatise gradually
• If you must exercise outside, build tolerance slowly over several days.
• Your body needs time (about 7–10 days) to adjust to the heat.

⚠️ 7. Know warning signs of heat illness
• Mild: heavy sweating, fatigue, cramps, dizziness
• Serious: confusion, rapid pulse, flushed skin, fainting
If these occur, stop, cool down, and seek help immediately.

🌟Team Wellbeing🌟

This week we had the lovely Debbie Savage guide us through a beautiful group Sound Wave Therapy session — a calming blend of gentle sound frequencies, breath work, and meditation.
It was a wonderful reminder to slow down, connect with our breath, and find stillness amidst the noise of everyday life. Even a few mindful minutes of deep breathing can do wonders for our mental wellbeing.
The session was so relaxing that a few of our team members drifted off with gentle snores! 😴 We joked that we’d love to book Debbie in for a session every month.
Debbie also offers a range of massage and pregnancy/birth therapies — be sure to check out her amazing work!

🌿 A Friendly Reminder Regarding Cancellations 🌿

We’ve noticed an increase in last-minute cancellations recently, and while we understand that life happens, these late changes make it difficult for us to offer appointments to others. We currently have a waiting list of patients eager to see our physios — and every missed session is an opportunity lost for someone else needing care.

To help manage this, we’ll be introducing a new cancellation policy:

• Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $50 fee.
• Cancellations made within 2 hours of appointment or failure to attend will incur the full consult fee.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation — this helps us continue to provide the best possible care and access for all our patients 💚
