making some 3:1 ashwagandha cinamon pills for a client who is struggling to recover after getting influenza a 3 months ago. servers fatigue sweating, not being able to charge their battery.
Ashwagandha is an excellent adaptogen herb, that helps to recharge during the day but also encourages deep rest at night.
I believe it is also the quintessential herb for 40+ women, encourages libido, mood, sleep and yin/fluids.
Cinnamon is such a complex herb, warming and sweet it regulates sugar metabolism but also encourages blood production thru its tonifying nature.
In India, ashwagandha is taken with cinamon ginger milk and honey for children who are failing to thrive, and ashwagandha has been shown to improve muscle and bone growth.

Our hearts are an endless stream of incomings and outgoings. And yet sometimes after a shock or trauma our hearts can feel empty. The same volume of blood transverse, but a hollowness can prevail. Some esoteric practitioners discuss the presence of doves in our heart, which are easily scared and can take flight! These delicate creatures can only be brought back by cultivating a tender environment, an appealing nest. I like the notion that these birds cannot be grasped or brought by force, and also that there is a phase where we can tend to the heart and do repair, before complete renewal. The word GENTLENESS comes to mind.

Another day another sweet batch of heart opening medicine. I heard a beautiful anecdote today from a client who used blue lotus on her 14 year old son when he was inconsolable, he was gasping for air, in emotional distress. She said son just have a bit of this and seconds later he steadied and the words started to flow. Someone asked me recently if I what I actually remember to do when I’m in distress. It’s this Blue lotus. And Reishi. Instant calm … total pattern shift!
