When a person with disability is repeatedly rejected, roadblocked, and left unable to leave their home for years, that is a violation of human rights.
A violation of human rights.
No one should be left isolated because essential supports, assistive technology, mobility equipment, home access, or vehicle modifications are delayed or denied.
This is not just red tape. It is not just delay. It is not just system failure.
It is about dignity, freedom of movement, independence, and the right to participate in everyday life.
I speak with people living this reality. For some, it has gone on for years. One person received essential AT only after 3 years of repeated challenges, while another in a comparable situation received equipment within 6 months of trial.
That inconsistency has real human consequences.
We can do better. We must do better.
