Whilst we have bode farewell to a couple of great Doctors lately, we have also welcomed a couple more! ✋
The first to be introduced is Dr Peter Nguyen, who will be with us at Bacchus Marsh and Darley for 12 months - longer if we're lucky! Peter has worked across a range of health services across Victoria, with experience in women's and children's health, mental health, and emergency medicine. Peter enjoys all aspects of General Practice, can consult on any health issue, and is committed to providing holistic patient-centred care. 🙏🏼
Peter speaks English and Vietnamese, and in his spare time, he loves to ride his bike and explore the culinary scene both locally and around Melbourne (though not at the same time). 🚲🍝
If you'd like to book a consult with Peter, give us a call on 53673333. 📞

Blokes, get ready! The 2026 Men’s Health night, The Pub Clinic, is on next week! Scan the QR to book yourself a spot and encourage your mates to do the same. Statistics show that men have a lower engagement with a health care team, are more likely to get sick, and have a much higher mortality rate than women. Going to The Pub Clinic is a step in the right direction to improve these statistics. 🍻🩺

Public Holiday Hours!
Bacchus Marsh OPEN 9am-1pm
Maddingley OPEN 9am-1pm
Darley CLOSED
Labour Day celebrates the 8-hour workday that we know today, and have known since the 1850’s thanks to Stonemasons in Melbourne marching for 8 hours work, 8 hours recreation, 8 hours rest.
To think that now there’s a movement for a 4-day work week! What a time to be alive! 👏🏼

Today is International Women’s Day, with the theme for 2026, Balance the Scales, focusing on achieving gender equality. We are so very lucky to have EIGHT wonderful women doctors on our team - Dr Jessica Tint, Dr Stephanie Williams, Dr Sumaya Zaz, Dr Karinne Tunnecliff, Dr Palwasha Sareer, Dr Teena Joseph, Dr Rebecca Webster and Dr Harleen Aulakh. There was a time, years ago, that we had NO women doctors for months on end. We are proud to have reached a stage where we have so many - all equal, heard and empowered.

Almost a week ago, we said Goodbye to Dr Minh Thanh Le, known to most as either Thanh or Dr Le. Featured front and centre in the navy scrubs, Thanh is moving on to explore and develop his interests and skills. We were lucky enough to have Thanh working between our clinics for over 5 years, and we have no doubt he will go far in the world of medicine and skin health. We will miss seeing him around the clinics!
Good luck, Thanh! 🍀 🔍

Big news! A lot of you probably know by now that our very own Dr Ravin Sadhai has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to medicine, and to the community. The circulating articles focus on The Pub Clinic and The Ladies Lounge, and though both are consistently fabulous events, Rav’s day-to-day contributions go well beyond them. They include but are not limited to:
⭐️ mentoring our medical students
⭐️ supporting our junior doctors
⭐️ supporting and educating our staff
⭐️ always having time to listen and teach
⭐️ organising fundraisers/info nights
⭐️ hospital rounds
⭐️ aged care rounds
⭐️ guest speaking on ABC radio
⭐️ involvement with local sports teams
And many, many more. If Rav’s day finished at 4pm you can usually find him still in his room at 6pm, checking results and making calls. He’s been known to answer the phones if reception are busy, and give an on-the-spot consult to many surprised patients. He’s always only a phone call away if the staff need anything. We are so very proud of him and he is so well-deserving of this award*. 🤩
(*even though he does, at times, pinch pens…and is really fussy with his cup of tea 😂 )

Bacchus Marsh GP Dr Ravin Sadhai OAM has been recognised in the 2026 Australia Day Honours for his work with The Pub Clinic and community medicine.

Last week, we said goodbye to Dr Senthooran Arudshivam, better known as Dr Sen, who is moving just a bit too far away to continue the commute. As an integral part of our team for over 6 years, Sen built himself a large and loyal patient base, not to mention being a favourite of the staff (don't tell the others! 🤫😆). We will remember Sen for being a great Doctor, but also for being a great dancer, and the first staff member ever to do The Worm at a Christmas party! And probably the last...
We'd also like to let Sen's regular patients know that he was on time for his farewell party! We couldn't believe it either! 😂 Good luck Sen. You will be missed. ☺️

(Pictured here we have from L>R, Dr Maung Thet, Dr Niresh Madhanpall, Dr Jessica Tint, Dr Sen, Dr Teena Joseph and Dr Michael O'Malley)

We have a HEATWAVE coming! 🥵
Heatwaves can affect any person, of any age, but older people, people with a pre-existing medical condition, pregnant women and young children and babies are most at risk.
For more info on extreme heat, head to https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/campaigns/survive-the-heat
How to Survive the Heat (info from the Health Department):
• Drink plenty of water. Always take a bottle with you.💧
• Hot cars kill. Never leave kids, adults or pets in cars. The temperature inside a parked car can double within minutes. 🚗
• Keep cool. Seek out air-conditioned buildings, draw your blinds, use a fan, take cool showers and dress in light and loose clothing made from natural fabrics. 👚
• Plan ahead. Schedule activities in the coolest part of the day and avoid exercising in the heat. If you must go out, wear a hat and sunscreen and take a bottle of water with you. 👒
• Check in on others. Look after those most at risk in the heat – your neighbour living alone, older people, children and babies, people with a medical condition - and don’t forget your pets! 🐩
• Call NURSE-ON-CALL on 1300 606 024 or see your doctor if you are unwell.
• In an emergency, call 000.
