Cooked liver is one of the best iron rich first foods, but it is also very high in vitamin A. While vitamin A is also a critical nutrient for babies, we don't want to give too much of it for smaller babies. Use a variety of iron-rich food sources and aim for not more than 1 teaspoon cooked liver, 2 x times per week.
