MYVISTA Mirrabooka residents enjoyed a special journey to Nepal, exploring its stunning landscapes and rich culture all from the comfort of their community lounge! Residents received passports, boarded their “flight” with a captain”, and enjoyed Nepali music, stories, and even traditional snacks, making the experience feel truly real.

This trip was extra special as it celebrated the birthplace of our Clinical Nurse Lead, who we sadly farewell as she moves on from MYVISTA.

It was a fun, immersive adventure that brought everyone closer together.

A huge well done to our MYVISTA Balcatta aged care residents who knitted and crocheted sections for the Purple Road supported by the lifestyle team at Balcatta .

MYVISTA has been involved in The “road” community art and awareness initiative which raises awareness about Elder Abuse since 2020.

The initiative has been led by the Older People’s Rights Service (OPRS) and is made up of thousands of hand‑crafted purple flowers. Each flower represents a unique story or experience of an older person.

The display on Have a Go Day 2025 at Burswood Park was absolutely stunning and sparked many meaningful conversations about the rights of older people. Our residents loved contributing, enjoying a fun and meaningful activity while helping to support an important cause.

For more than 18 months, MYVISTA Mirrabooka Retirement Living residents have been participating in the Chair Yoga for seniors program With two sessions every week, it’s a wonderful way to stay active, build strength and keep moving as we get older.

Gentle stretches, breathing exercises and plenty of smiles make each class a joy and of course, they finish with coffee and biscuits to replace all those calories we’ve just burnt off!

Here’s to staying healthy, connected and active — one stretch at a time

Our annual MYVISTA Balcatta Spring Fair was another huge success! It was wonderful to see families, friends, residents and community members come together — young and old — to enjoy a fun day out in the sunshine.

With raffles, delicious BBQ and ice cream, lively music and plenty of smiles, this event truly is a highlight of our social calendar. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day unforgettable!

We’re thrilled to celebrate the milestone 100th birthdays of MYVISTA Balcatta Aged Care residents Leonard and Elisabeth.

The Residential Aged Care Manager, Operations Manager, and a MYVISTA Life Member also joined in the celebrations. There was cake, music, laughter, and lots of love from staff, family members, and fellow residents.

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead, filled with happiness, health, and many more cherished moments!

MYVISTA Mirrabooka retirement living residents really got into the spirit of Oktoberfest this week! From traditional German tunes to delicious treats, laughter filled the room as everyone enjoyed a festive celebration together.

It was wonderful to see our community come together, embracing the joy of good company, great food, and a little German flair! Prost to fun, friendship, and making memories!

The MYVISTA Home Care team recently hit the road for their monthly outing and this time to the charming town of York!

The highlight of the trip was a visit to the York Motor Museum, where everyone enjoyed exploring the impressive collection of classic cars. After the museum, there was time to wander through the town, soak up the country charm, and share a delicious lunch together.

These regular outings are such a great way for our Home Care clients and team to stay connected, explore new places. Moments like these remind us that care goes beyond the home; it’s about friendship, community, and creating memories.

MYVISTA Balcatta Aged Care residents had an absolutely wonderful time creating delicious pizzas from scratch!

The kitchen was filled with laughter, teamwork, and the mouthwatering smell of fresh pizza — and of course, everyone loved the end result!

It’s always a joy to see residents enjoying hands-on activities that bring smiles (and tasty rewards!) Activities like pizza making are fantastic for older adults. They encourage creativity, stimulate the senses, and help maintain fine motor skills. The social interaction and laughter shared along the way also does wonders for mental wellbeing and connection.

MYVISTA Balcatta residents came together for a special memorial service to honour and remember the residents who have passed away in recent months. Led by a Catholic priest, the service was a moment of reflection, comfort, and connection. It was a chance for residents, families, and staff to pay tribute to those who touched our lives and remain in our hearts.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating their memories and sharing in the love, care, and community that defines MYVISTA.

“RUOK?” four little letters that can make a huge difference.

In aged care, this question is more than a conversation starter. For residents, families, and staff, it’s a lifeline.

At MYVISTA, we don’t just ask on RUOK? Day, we encourage each other to ask every day. We support our staff through confidential counselling, and we check in regularly with residents and families to make sure they feel heard and cared for.

Because when we look after those who care for others, we create a stronger, kinder community for everyone.

MYVISTA Balcatta Residential Aged Care residents had an amazing time at the LiveLighter Aged Care Games last week.

The event, held at Kingsway Sports Centre was filled with fun competitions like ball toss, pool noodle hockey, and skittles. While we didn’t take home the trophy this time, we still came away as winners because laughter, movement, and friendship were the real prizes.

Events like these are a wonderful way to keep seniors active, engaged, and most importantly, having fun!
