This is a nuanced and deeply personal truth.

For some nervous systems, storytelling alone is not neutral.
Revisiting painful experiences can reactivate the same stress chemistry and survival responses, even when insight is present.

Talk therapy helped me understand my experiences.
But for my nervous system, repeatedly revisiting trauma sometimes reinforced the stress response rather than resolving it.

Because the body does not experience memory as “just a story.”
It experiences it as activation.

For me, PTSD shifted not through more analysis, but through regulation, safety, and working with the layers stored beneath cognition.

Not a rejection of therapy. Just an acknowledgement that healing is profoundly embodied.

Full Moon Soul-Led Guidance 🌕

I’m really feeling that this Full Moon is shining a light on the things we’ve been quietly tolerating.

The almosts.
The maybes.
The “I’ll deal with that later” kinda stuff. Well that later is now.

For the month ahead, the collective energy feels like it’s gently (and also at times, quite aggressively) nudging us to be more honest with ourselves.

More honest about what’s not working.
More honest about what we actually want.
More honest about where we’ve been betraying our own needs to keep the peace.
More honest about what’s been going on around us, right under our noses, that’s been hidden in plain sight all along.

You might notice emotions sitting closer to the surface.
You might feel more tired than usual.
You might feel a bit tender, a bit foggy, or a bit over people.

All normal. All data and information.

Take a slow breath.
Let your eyes wander.

Rhythm is one of the simplest ways to support a child’s nervous system.
