Our school aims to provide opportunities for children to develop their intellectual, physical, social, cultural and emotional skills. Students are also exposed to the latest technology, pedagogy, assessment strategies and educational research with a clear focus on the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum. Pastoral Care is also a key focus throughout the school linking our student services team to enhance our strong commitment to building and supporting a safe learning environment for all our students. Physical Education and Music are our specialist areas with Visual/Media Arts and Health added in 2017. The use of technology is integrated into learning programs for all year groups as we progress to being at the cutting edge of technology-assisted learning. Rivergums Primary School has modern state of the art facilities that enhance the learning experiences of all students. Our purpose built art/visual art and music rooms ensure learning experiences in the arts are maximised. Our school assembly area provides a quality venue for our community where students can showcase their learning through a variety of events.

Today at 11am Rivergums staff and students took a minute's silence to commemorate Remembrance Day.

At the going down of the sun,
We will remember them.

Our Year 1's have been learning about the past, present and future and at today's assembly, they performed "When I Grow Up" from Matilda. Students dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up.

Congratulations to all of our Merit Certificate winners, our Aussie of the Month, Zoe, and a special award winner, Noah, who won a $5 canteen voucher in recognition of exceptional manners in welcoming everyone into our school. Keep up the good work everyone!

The assembly was rounded out by our choir leading the school in our school song and Shotgun by George Ezra.

On behalf of the Rivergums Primary School P&C Association :

📣 WANTED: PRESIDENT & VICE PRESIDENT

(Not for Australia – just for the Rivergums P&C… but still very important) 🇦🇺👑✍️

Rivergums Primary School P&C is currently accepting applications for two very prestigious roles:

👑 President – You’re the fearless (but friendly) leader. You don’t need to be a pro — just someone who can help guide our awesome team and say things like “all in favour?” with confidence.

📣Vice President – supports the president in their absence to attend meetings and keep the conversations flowing, we’re sure of it- You’re qualified.

Don’t worry — we’ve got snacks, support, and a whole team ready to help. You won’t be doing it alone!

The Rivergums P&C helps:

🎉 Run fun events

🎁 Fundraise for cool things

🤝 Support our school community

📣 And generally just make good stuff happen

We’re also looking for members who want to pitch in without running the show — so don’t stress if you’re not quite ready for the presidential throne (yet). There’s room for everyone!

Perks include:

✅ Insider knowledge

✅ New friends

✅ Occasional biscuits

✅ Immense street cred at assemblies

So whether you’re ready to wear the crown 👑 or just want to lend a hand — now’s your moment. Or nominate that super-organised friend who once colour-coded their pantry.

📍Join us at our next meeting (Week 7- TBC) and see what we’re all about – no pressure, just good people doing great things for our school.

On Friday, 31st October, our school held its annual Athletics Carnival, and despite cloudy skies and windy conditions, the rain stayed away, allowing students to perform at their best throughout the day. The carnival was filled with outstanding effort, resilience, sportsmanship, and plenty of smiles, with students cheering one another on and celebrating achievements across all events.
Our teachers did an exceptional job organising and supporting the day’s activities, ensuring everything ran smoothly, and we extend a heartfelt thank-you to our wonderful parent community for their strong support and encouragement. Congratulations to all participants — we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Well done, team!
