Your nervous system is processing so much more than you give it credit for. It has been estimated that your senses manage up to 100,000 times more, at any time than your thoughts can compute. It's no wonder that our system gets overstimulated and eventually shuts down in order to give us a break.
This often happens by way of illness; physical, mental, autoimmune, etc.
It can be beneficial to do your own reset from time to time, in order to help prevent one happening of it's own accord. That is exactly what these classes aim to help you with.

Although I don't quite have the same kit as before, and am back to portable operation (outside of classes) for the timebeing, I am taking a limited number of 'bodywork included' bookings.

What is NSDR? Non-sleep, deep relaxation was a term coined by Adam Huberman to explain his take on Yoga Nidra (YN). The reset and relax class at Simonays, often leans into YR and similar techniques to help you wind down. It also gives you a variety of helpful breath and body-based techniques that you can take home with you, to use there, or anywhere else you need to find a little calm.

As many of you know, I have an extensive history as a bodyworker prior to adding a focus on the breath, mindfulness, and, for want of a better term, bodyfulness.
From personal experience, I can attest that trauma and stress effect the musculoskeletal system in a very significant way. This is well supported by research. Of course this means it effects all aspects of ourselves as well.
I am currently working on a structured program that will work to give you a range of techniques you can apply yourself, to help manage stress induced musculoskeletal, emotional, and thought based restrictions. In addition, I will be offering hands on support to those who complete the program to deepen that work, if and when they feel it will be helpful. I am happy to work through this individually, or with the initial phase conducted in small group or online environments.
The focus will be on realising and releasing common tension patterns we employ to protect ourselves in response to stressful stimuli.
Expressions of interest are now open.
