Hey my natural solution loving, essential oil enthusiasts, did you know that you can take your oil use the next level by using essential oils on acupuncture/acupressure points on your body?

When you’re working with tested pure essential oils, you are working with the true essence of the plant. Qi (pronounced chee) life force (energy) when you combine these precious oils with the powerful acupoints along the meridians on our body, that is where the magic happens.

Let me give you a quick example. As a practitioner of Chinese medicine (TCM), I have seen many patients who suffered with headaches and/or migraines. While TCM and acupuncture is highly effective to support these issues, when you strategically add drops of certain essential oils to these points, the results skyrocket.

Do you need the needles? NOPE! You can do this on your own.

Check this out. Here is just a quick example.

As you likely know, there are a myriad of reasons why one can get migraines and headaches, and it’s important to distinguish the differences.

Stress, muscle tension in neck and shoulders, sinus issues, high blood pressure, weather changes, are just some of the common triggers. So, I will try and give you a few oils and points that commonly have good success

You can use Peppermint on extra acupuncture point Tai Yang at your temples. it's a go-to oil, as it energetically stimulates qi and nerves as well. (Please do watch your eyes though)

You can also use Peppermint or Peppermint, Lavender, and Marjoram together at GB20.
Lavender and Marjoram are great for gently moving the stuck qi so can apply to GB20 & GB21.
Lavender or Marjoram on LI4 between the thumb and forefinger. LI4 is called the "Ruler of the Face."

☯️ Stomach 8 (ST8) is an all-around great acu point for general headaches
☯️ Tai Yang - great point for those stress induced temporal headaches
☯️ Yin Tang - great for sinus headaches and general relaxation
💧 OILS for headaches and migraines
Peppermint
Marjoram
Roman Chamomile
Lavender
Frankincense

I could go on and on about oils and points, but the above should get you started with most headaches.

Have you tried essential oils on acupuncture/acupressure points?

Yesterday I mentioned the pendulum swing of the fire element, causing the element to be "out of balance".

From a Chinese medicine perspective, when we observe conditions that are “out of balance”, we are discerning to see if this state is a condition that is an excess or deficiency. What does that even mean, good question.

Think of it this way for now…

An excess condition will likely manifest as hyper-functioning, while a deficiency condition will manifest as hypo-functioning. More on that in another post.

So, what does an excess fire element look like?

Energy (qi) dynamics: Qi raises and disperses and can look like:

Anxiety

Insomnia

Restlessness

agitation... more in the blog post.

Now we get to decide the treatment protocol. if something is too hot and/or too high, well then, let's descend cool the qi.

AS you can guess I love Kidney 1 to descend the qi...

learn more about the ups and downs of the qi dynamics with the fire element in this week's blog post.

PC6 - Pericardium 6 - this point is magical. the pericardium protects the heart. this point is soothing especially when there is any chest tightness from emotional imbalance of fire element

CV17 - Conception Vessel 17 local point to center and soothe all things fire element (heart) related.
