❤️🌿 Happy Valentine’s Day — Show Your Gut Some Love! 🌿❤️

Did you know your gut microbiome contains around 38–40 trillion bacteria, weighs about 1–2 kg, and functions like a metabolic organ?

Research suggests that eating 30 different plant-based foods per week supports a healthier gut microbiome.

Not 30 servings…
👉 30 different plant foods.

Think: 🥦 Veggies
🍎 Fruits
🌾 Wholegrains
🫘 Legumes
🥜 Nuts & seeds
🌿 Herbs & spices

🌈 How many colours have you added to your plate today?

A healthy gut supports immunity, hormones, energy — and even pelvic health.

This Valentine’s Day, feed the microbes that love you back 💕

Drop a 🌈 if you’re taking the 30-plant challenge!

🌿 Strong Team. Stronger Care. 🌿

This weekend our Back In Motion team took some time out for our “Reset & Reconnect” retreat — a chance to recharge, build connections, and spend quality time together outside the clinic.

Because the care we give our community starts with a team that feels supported, connected, and valued 🤍

There were plenty of laughs, good food, games, and great conversations — and we were lucky to have partners join us too, making it even more special.

We’re coming back refreshed, energised, and ready to continue helping our community live, move, and feel better every day 💚
Thank you for trusting us with your health — we love being part of this community.

Sunlight ☀️
The sound of water 💧
The rustle of leaves 🍃
And the comfort of family 🤍
Moments like these calm the nervous system — and when the body softens, the pelvic floor does too.
Rest, gentle movement, and presence are powerful forms of self-care 🧘‍♀️✨
Slow down. Breathe. Let your body reset 🌬️🤍

Don’t wait for pain to slow you down 🚫🩹

Taking up a new goal 🏃‍♀️🎯 or getting back into activity?

Simple prep habits help your body absorb load, move efficiently, and stay resilient 💪 — reducing the risk of injury before it starts.

Whether it’s sport 🏸, work 💼, or everyday movement 🚶‍♂️, preparing your joints and muscles properly means fewer setbacks and more confidence in how you move ✨.

Not sure where to start?

An injury prevention assessment 🧠📋 can identify weaknesses, movement patterns, and risk factors before pain appears.

At Back In Motion Ballarat we help you stay one step ahead of injury 👣 so you can keep doing what you love ❤️.

🏏 Shoulder Pain in Cricket?

Ever wondered why shoulders get sore so easily with bowling, throwing, or overhead work? Let’s keep it simple 👇

🏌️ The Shoulder Joint
Think of your shoulder like a golf ball on a tee
🟡 Ball = upper arm bone (humerus)
🟢 Tee = shallow socket on the shoulder blade (glenoid)

👉 Great for movement, but less stable — which means easier to overload and injure.

⚙️ How the shoulder works
Designed for movement first, strength second
It allows:
🏋️ Lifting | 🎯 Throwing | 🏏 Bowling | 🤲 Catching

Because of this, it relies heavily on muscle coordination.

💪 Rotator cuff = key player
Small muscles that control the shoulder during every bowl and throw
Think guy ropes holding a tent pole ⛺
If they’re weak, tight, or overworked → pain starts.

🫧 Why it hurts
• Repetitive bowling & throwing
• Sudden increase in training load
• Poor shoulder blade control
• Tight chest or weak rotator cuff

✅ Good news
Shoulder pain doesn’t always mean damage — it often means the shoulder isn’t coping with load.

🔑 Fix it properly
✔ Improve shoulder movement
✔ Strengthen rotator cuff & shoulder blade muscles
✔ Build bowling loads gradually

📩 Want to bowl, throw & field without pain? The right physio plan can make all the difference.

✨ Happy New Year! 🎉

January is a great time to focus on healthy habits for the year ahead. The good news? Meaningful change doesn’t have to be overwhelming — it’s often the small, consistent actions that make the biggest difference over time.

If you haven’t set any New Year’s resolutions yet, consider starting with simple, achievable goals such as:
• Moving more 🚶‍♀️
• Prioritising quality sleep 😴
• Drinking more water throughout the day 💧

To improve your chances of sticking with these goals, try turning them into SMART goals — specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound.

For example, instead of saying “I want to exercise more”, try:
👉 “I will commit to moving for 30 minutes, three times per week, for the next four weeks.”

Being clear about what you’re doing, how often, and for how long helps turn good intentions into sustainable habits — rather than vague goals that are easy to abandon.

✨ What health goals are you setting for 2026? ✨

🌟 We were honoured to support the very first BBAI Multicultural Health Day in Ballarat!

Proudly sponsored by Back In Motion Ballarat and Back In Motion Bacchus Marsh, the event brought together health professionals, community organisations, and families for a day of learning, connection, and wellbeing.

Our senior physiotherapist and clinic partner, Sanhita Pant, had the privilege of presenting on pelvic health, alongside many other inspiring presenters who generously shared their knowledge.

👏 Congratulations to the Ballarat Bangladesh Association Inc. (BBAI) for leading this initiative, and heartfelt thanks to our partners Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC) and Ballarat Community Health (B*H) for their incredible contributions — including free health checks and vaccinations for the multicultural community.
