Asperger Syndrome Awareness Day – 18 February 2025

Asperger Syndrome Awareness Day is an opportunity to shine a light on a neurological difference that is often misunderstood, and to celebrate the diversity of how people think, communicate, and experience the world.

This Asperger Syndrome Awareness Day, join us in celebrating neurodiversity, amplify understanding, and continue building a world where everyone belongs, just as they are. 💚

Our Business Development and Innovation Manager Susan Cameron-Jung joined Tania on the She Shapes Tomorrow podcast, and what a conversation it was. 🎙️

Susan shared her journey from her early career as a therapeutic radiographer caring for HIV patients during a time when stigma was at its peak, to becoming a proud q***r woman, foster mum of three, and passionate advocate for authentic leadership.

At Auscare Support, Susan brings that same fearless, human-first approach to everything she does. Connection over fear. Authenticity over performance. Showing up as your whole self.

We're so proud to have Susan on our team, and even prouder to see her story shared on this platform. Give it a listen 👇

Patch News – February 2026

Well, it looks like we’ve officially survived January and all its moody, unpredictable weather.

We’re still doing our best rain dance, but the clouds seem to be shy — they pop in, say hello, and disappear before you can blink.

Thanks to some strategic mulching, recycling, and a whole lot of patience, the patch is still a little green oasis in the middle of what feels like a desert. A tiny miracle, really.

The dahlias have decided it’s showtime, bursting out in colours so bright they’re practically showing off. Harvesting has become a daily ritual: the first potato patch has wrapped up its season, the second is powering along, and the third has just gone into the ground like fresh new recruits.

Zucchini, beans, carrots, beetroot, and radish are still coming in strong — and yes, a few brave radishes have been sacrificed in the name of experimental pickle recipes. The lettuces (especially the speckled trout) have been absolute stars.

And in other news… some of the flowerpots have started growing “alternative crops.” Turns out we’re either excellent cat farmers or the pots are simply the coolest real estate in the garden. Hard to say.

Good support coordination doesn't just happen in the field. It starts with the systems behind it.

At Auscare Support, our coordinators have the tools they need to do their best work. A purpose-built CRM that keeps everything in one place, direct access to NDIS plans and funding, budgeting tools that make service planning smarter, and a platform that keeps training, development and compliance organised and accessible.

It's not the flashy stuff. But it's the stuff that creates certainty, reduces admin, and gives our team the space to focus on what actually matters. The people they support.

This is what it looks like when you back your team properly.

Auscare Support has entered a new chapter.

You may have noticed we have a brand new look. But this is more than a fresh logo and website. It came from reflection, honest conversations and a deliberate decision to focus our energy where we know we create the greatest impact.

That focus is Support Coordination. It is where our experience, knowledge and relationships come together to create meaningful outcomes for participants. By concentrating our energy here, we are strengthening our ability to provide consistent, high quality support that helps people navigate their NDIS plans with confidence.

We also rethought how we support the people doing this work. Three pathways. Independent Contractors, Employees and Auscare Connect. Different needs. Different working styles. One shared commitment to excellence.

Whether you are a participant, a partner or a professional in the sector, we would love you to be part of what comes next.

Because at the heart of all of it, this has always been about doing .

Today is Physical Disability Awareness Day, and it is a meaningful day for us at Auscare Support.

We are proud of our team members who live with physical disabilities themselves, and of the lived experience, insight and leadership they bring to our work every day. We also support many NDIS participants living with physical disabilities, and value the trust placed in us to support them.

Established in 2023 by Physical Disability Australia, this day was created to raise awareness of physical disability, recognise the diversity of lived experience, and highlight the contributions of people with physical disabilities across our communities. It also provides space for learning, connection and shared understanding.

The Patch January 🌱🌸🌿

The harvest baskets are overflowing with salad greens of every kind, including my beloved speckled trout lettuce. Zucchinis are coming in thick and fast, the early tomatoes are blushing beautifully, the spuds are delicious, and the onions are curing nicely for storage..

Like the rest of the country, we’ve been hit with some wild weather, and keeping the water right has been a juggling act — but the winter mulching is finally earning its keep.

The harvest baskets are overflowing with salad greens of every kind, including my beloved speckled trout lettuce. Zucchini are coming in thick and fast, the early tomatoes are blushing beautifully, the spuds delicious, and the onions are curing nicely for storage.

Next up are the elderberries — and I’m sharing the bounty with my cheeky family of wrens who seem to think the patch is theirs.

The apricots are ripening at lightning speed and won’t be hanging around for long, while the fruit keeps us busy, the blooms are putting on their own show.

The dahlias are just starting to unfurl, and they’re already stealing the spotlight.
As for the babies… they’ve grown at a rate of knots. Cute one minute, stinky the next — but that’s life in the patch.
