It’s such a joy to help people adapt to their challenges by learning new strategies to compensate or retraining their brains. Michelle has a special interest in progressive neurological conditions, particularly Motor Neurone Disease. This episode of Australian Story did a fabulous job of capturing a person’s story navigating their diagnosis. There are also a lot of great examples of alternative and assistive communication methods in action. Get the tissues ready. 💙

In memory of TV host Fiona MacDonald, who died this month from MND, we revisit her story, filmed as she drove around Australia with her sister to raise awareness of the disease.

When we transitioned from home visits to in-clinic sessions, it was so important to us to make the clinic feel homely and welcoming. We love sharing a cuppa and a chat during sessions just like we did around the dining table.

Headland Speech Pathology is two years old! We’re so happy to be providing this service to the community in the Northern Rivers. The last two years has seen us expand from a one woman show to a duo, from a mobile service to a dynamic in-clinic, mobile and tele-health service and from 1:1 sessions to group therapy too! We can’t wait to see what the next year brings. Thanks for all your support and collaboration. Hip hip hooray! 🥳
