Balmain Iyengar Yoga Studio Pixie Lillas, director of The Balmain Iyengar Yoga Studio, started practicing yoga in 1976 and currently holds a Junior Advanced Certificate.

Established in 1980 by internationally-renowned teacher Pixie Lillas, the Balmain Iyengar Yoga Studio is one of Sydney's oldest studios and one of Balmain's longest-running businesses. She has been closely involved with the BKS Iyengar Yoga Association since it started in 1985 and with the running of assessments for teacher certification since that time. Pixie continues to go back to study with the Iyengar family on an almost yearly basis. Every teacher at the school has been personally trained by Pixie, which ensures an international standard for all students attending The Studio, from beginners through to advanced.

🌿Join Pixie for her annual Intensive from 3 to 10 January, 2026!

🌿It’s a week-long intensive yoga workshop open to experienced students, teachers, and trainees, giving them an opportunity to immerse themselves in daily yoga practice.

🌿Each day will feature two yoga sessions: Asana in the morning, followed by Pranayama and Restorative practices in the afternoon. This structure provides an ideal opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the focus and stability that a consistent yoga practice can bring.

🌿Dates: 3-10 January, 2026

🌿Eligibility: Teachers, trainees and experienced students who have a regular practice including inversions and backbends.
