Marama
During pregnancy I felt strongly called to craft a birthing drum to be used throughout my labour.
Named for her likeness to our luminous moon, my drum Marama was born over the spring equinox, guided by the skilled hands and generous heart of Chloe
Much like postpartum, after being stretched, it is said to take a year for a drum to fully settle into her new skin. Until then she is more sensitive to her environment ~ just like a highly attuned new māmā.
I’ll be assisting Chloe in her upcoming drum making workshop over the Autumn Equinox with my sweet son Koa Marama.
We are also blessed with a fortnightly drumming circle on Bunurong Country, held by dear ones Fiona & Gigi .in.the.wild
May there be softness for the stretched parts of ourselves under today’s full moon.
