For many years I’ve loved being a hands-on therapist, working closely with you to support your body and wellbeing. It’s been such a privilege to be part of your health journey.

But over time, I’ve realised something important…
I want to help more people, more often but take a step back from treating.

This October, our beautiful team of Butterettes from Team B***y Butter 🚴‍♀️ will be riding 200km to help raise funds for cancer research. Every pedal stroke has purpose… every kilometre is for someone special. 💛

“Have women been conditioned to accept low energy during menopause?” 🤷‍♀️

For decades the message was simple…

Menopause happens.
Energy drops.
Memory slips.
Just get on with it.

But women today are asking better questions. 💭

We want to understand our bodies.
We want to feel vibrant and healthy for decades to come.
And we want to support other women going through the same journey.

Because menopause isn’t the end of feeling good — it’s just a new stage of life that deserves attention, care and conversation.

Healthy Cells = Healthy Body

Water helps—but it’s only one small piece of restoring the brain to “normal.” Think of the brain like a high-performance engine: hydration is the oil, not the full service.

Here’s the full picture, simply:

💧 1. Water — the foundation

Yes, drinking enough water matters.
• Even 1–2% dehydration can reduce focus, memory, and mood
• Water helps nerve signaling, blood flow, and toxin removal

Aim for 2.5–3.5 L/day (more if you train hard or sweat a lot)

But water alone won’t fix burnout, brain fog, or stress damage.

2. Blood sugar stability (huge!)

Frequent sugar spikes = brain fatigue.
• Eat protein + healthy fats with meals
• Avoid constant snacking on refined carbs

This keeps neurotransmitters stable and reduces mental crashes.

3. Sleep = brain repair time

This is where the brain actually restores itself.
• Clears waste (via the glymphatic system)
• Repairs neurons
• Resets emotions and memory

7–8 hours of quality sleep is non-negotiable

4. Brain nutrients

Your brain is ~60% fat.
Key nutrients:
• Omega-3 (DHA/EPA) – fish, flax, walnuts
• Magnesium – calms nerves
• B-vitamins – nerve repair & energy
• Electrolytes – sodium, potassium (water without minerals doesn’t hydrate the brain well)

5. Movement & oxygen

Exercise increases:
• Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)
• Blood flow
• Mood chemicals (dopamine, serotonin)

Even 30 min brisk walking helps restore mental clarity.

6. Stress reduction (often ignored)

Chronic stress literally shrinks parts of the brain (like the hippocampus).
Daily practices:
• Deep breathing
• Meditation / prayer
• Time in sunlight & nature

Bottom line

💧 Water restores brain function only if the basics are also in place.
True brain “reset” = hydration + sleep + nutrition + movement + calm nervous system.

Our Story

Do you need help with pain or discomfort? Here at Bodyfixit we treat clients with either the Emmett Technique or a combination of the Emmett Technique with Remedial Massage. The Emmett Technique is a light touch technique that can help with pain and discomfort in the body. It has been known to help the symptoms of head ache/migraine, lower back pain, neck pain, decrease in range of movement, knee and hip pain, shoulder pain etc. We have had success in relieving symptoms from some conditions such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic pain syndrome to name a few.

Bodyfixit also offers an opportunity to learn the Emmett Technique in either the 8hr Emm Tech introductory course or the modules to learn the technique to become a practitioner. We also teach the introductory course Emmett4Horses as well for all our four legged friends.

We believe in treating the body as a whole and looking at the body from both inside and out. Therefore we do not only treat muscles and the external body we offer nutritional support for your body right to a cellular level to aid inflammation and therefore decrease pain.
