Endometriosis is more than painful periods.

As Dr Ying Li explains, endometriosis can impact fertility in all areas. Ongoing pelvic pain can limit in*******se, directly reducing the opportunity to conceive. Beyond that, endometriosis is associated with inflammation which may impact egg quality, fertilisation and implantation. In some cases, fibroids may also coexist, adding another layer of complexity to fertility.

If you’re experiencing significant period pain or struggling to conceive, it’s important to seek our Fertility Specialist advice. Early assessment can make a meaningful difference in protecting your fertility and improving your treatment pathway.

Endometriosis doesn’t just affect your periods, it can affect your fertility too.

In this video, explains why it’s so important to work with a doctor who’s specifically trained in endometriosis, especially when you’re trying to conceive.

For some patients, minimally invasive surgery may help improve fertility outcomes by addressing endometriosis in a way that supports your reproductive goals.

Because when endo is part of your story, fertility care should be more than a standard plan, it should be personalised, strategic, and built around you.

What is ICSI — and when is it used?

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic S***m Injection) is a specialised IVF technique where a single s***m is injected directly into an egg to help achieve fertilisation.

It's most commonly used when male factor fertility challenges are present, including low s***m count, poor s***m motility, or abnormal s***m morphology. ICSI may also be recommended if previous IVF cycles had low fertilisation rates, or when s***m has been surgically retrieved.

ICSI doesn't replace IVF - it's one of several fertilisation methods your Fertility Specialist may consider as part of an individual treatment plan.

Male factor fertility challenges are involved in approximately 50% of cases.

Australia's first male infertility guidelines emphasise simultaneous assessment of both partners in a couple, including semen analysis and physical examination for men.

Fertility is a team effort, and identifying treatable male factors early can save months or years on the path to pregnancy.

Learn more about what these landmark guidelines mean for male fertility care on our blog. See: https://tinyurl.com/f33vymn8

Even in the most challenging moments, your future family matters.

Dr Genia Rozen shares what makes oncofertility care so meaningful: helping people facing medical treatment protect something important: their chance to have a family when the time is right.

Options like egg freezing, s***m freezing, and tissue preservation exist to keep your choices open for when you're ready.

We work alongside your medical team, so you can focus on your health while we help safeguard what comes after.
