🌸🐣 EASTER BREAK🐣🌸

I just wanted to take a moment to say how incredibly proud I am of you. This treatment block has been full of hard work! I am so lucky to be part of your journey.

I’ll be taking some annual leave over the next two weeks, but I’m already looking forward to returning in mid-April and continuing our work together.

Big news for families this March 1! 🌟

Today marks an exciting step forward for speech pathology in Australia.

Medicare is significantly expanding coverage for speech pathology services — making it easier for children and young people to access the support they need.

Eligible Australians under 25 with conditions such as:
• Stuttering
• Speech sound disorders
• Cleft lip and/or palate

can now access up to 8 assessment sessions and 20 treatment sessions under Medicare.

This is in addition to existing Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans, which currently cover 5 allied health sessions per year.

Rebates can be accessed with a referral from your GP or specialist.

Play a New Game: How Well Do Your Clients Know You? 🎨😃

Today, one of my wonderful clients surprised me with a caricature of… me!

They handed it to me the moment I walked into the session and I could not believe it. Fine the picture had shaved off a few years (and kgs) but his description of me meant I had the:

Same outfit.
Same shoes.
Same hair.
And yes… even my watch made the cut. ⌚️

How lucky am I to do what I do! How lucky am I to have made an impression that means someone wants to spend the time creating a caricature of me to make me smile!

🌟📚 Children’s Book Week 2025 📚🌟
Theme: Book an Adventure

It’s been a little while since I last posted, but I couldn’t let Book Week pass without celebrating the magic that is book reading ✨.

Books take us on the most incredible adventures — whether it’s diving into a world of tigers, learning all about soccer, or exploring the secret life of cats 🐅⚽🐾. Every page opens up new opportunities for children to grow their speech, language, and literacy skills.

It’s never too late to rediscover the joy of reading together. What book adventures are you and your children heading off on this Book Week?

✨ Time to Rest and Recharge ✨

What an incredible block it has been at Speech with Impact! We’ve seen so much growth — confident conversations to stronger reading, clearer speech, and braver social interactions. I am so proud of the hard work my clients and families have put in. 💪💬🌟

Now it’s time for a well-earned break. We’ll be closed from Sunday 30th June to Monday 14th July to rest, recharge, and reset.

Treatment Block 3 will begin on Tuesday 15th July — and I can’t wait to dive back in, rested and ready to keep building on all the amazing progress.

⚠️ Important Announcement: Clinic Closure This Thursday & Friday ⚠️

Due to predictions that Tropical Cyclone Alfred will make landfall this week, Speech with Impact will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Authorities have warned that this Category 2 system may bring severe winds and flash flooding.

To prioritise everyone’s safety and prevent unnecessary travel, we have made the decision to close the clinic on these days. We appreciate your understanding and will be in touch to reschedule appointments as needed.

Speech with Impact will be closed from Wednesday, December 18th, to Monday, January 13th.

As we wrap up another wonderful year, we’re excited to start planning speech pathology services for 2025!

To our valued clients and families, we’d love to hear from you. If you’d like to continue accessing services next year, please let us know by Friday, the 13th of December.

Here’s what we need to know:

✅ If not, let us know your availability, and we’ll do our best to offer an alternative.

Your feedback helps us create a timetable that works for everyone and allows us to offer places to families on our waiting list.
