Occupational Therapy for Children?
Occupational Therapists (OTs) have a diverse range of skills that make us well-suited to support children with a variety of developmental needs. We can assist children in developing and strengthening areas such as:
✔️ Play Skills
✔️ Emotional and behavioural regulation
✔️ Fine motor skills (e.g., handwriting, drawing, manipulating small objects)
✔️ Gross motor skills (e.g., running, jumping, balancing)
✔️ Attention and organisational skills
✔️ Social Skills
✔️ Touleting and self-care routines
✔️Sensory processing skills
✔️ Everyday living skills (e.g., dressing, grooming, eating, sleeping)
✔️ Equipment and access needs
If you have concerns about your child’s development, a great first step is to review a developmental milestone checklist and visit your local child health service. They can help you identify any areas of concern and guide you on the next steps 👍🏼 and often, that includes seeing an Occupational Therapist!
