GEORGIA COGAN

Georgia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Nutritionist and Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC).

Committed to helping clients to achieve their nutrition related goals by providing knowledge, support and realistic tools, tailored to each individual. Georgia provides evidence based, client-centred care and practices using a non-dieting approach, allowing for long-term and sustainable changes in behaviour. She is passionate about supporting those recovering from eating disorders and disordered eating.

Offering compassionate, judgement free support to her clients, Georgia enjoys helping people to manage their health in a way that promotes enjoyable eating and a positive relationship with food.

Georgia supports clients with a wide range of nutrition related conditions and concerns, including:
• Eating disorders and disordered eating
• Nutrition support for PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and other gastrointestinal disorders
• Nutrition support for Osteopenia and Osteoporosis
• Nutritional deficiencies
• Chronic disease management: pre-diabetes, diabetes, high cholesterol management and cardiovascular disease

NURSE APPOINTMENTS

We are so grateful for our amazing nurses and the way they support the staff and our community everyday.

We want you know that whilst our nurses play a critical role in our practice, they cannot take the place of a doctor. Your doctor will always oversee your medical care and make clinical decisions regarding the best treatment plan for your personal health.

Our nurses will assist patients and doctors with Immunisations, Vaccinations, Health Assessments, Wound care, Iron and Aclasta infusions.

If you have concerns about your immediate health, the nurses can work together with our doctors to provide you triage care. Our nurses may also be able to answer general health enquiries where appropriate.

MATERNITY LEAVE🤰🏻

Dr Monique Portelli is getting ready to welcome baby number three into the world and will be taking her well deserved maternity leave in December.

We have appointments available if you want to see Monique before the end of the year. Moving into 2026 all our other wonderful doctors will be available to support her patients while she takes care of her sweet little family for a while.

TRIAGE SUPPORT

We want you to know that help is never too far away.
Here at Barwon Heads Family Practice, we want to avoid you sitting in the emergency room if preventable.

If you are a tradie with a tool mishap, a parent with a child who has played a little too hard in the school yard, or perhaps you have something that feels more serious, we will do our best to assist you.

Please don't hesitate to call us and our reception team will communicate your needs to our nurses and doctors, together, we work to provide triage care as quickly as possible.

Our Nurses Fi and Elly explain the two different kinds of Health Assessments you may be eligible for.

Over 75 Assessment aims to keep you in your home as independently as possible for as long as possible.

45 - 49 Assessment supports preventative care, looking for any early warning signs of chronic conditions that we can help you manage.
