Kids Are Kids! is a not-for-profit, transforming children's lives through therapy and family support. Family is at the heart of our services.

is an inclusive charity that supports children and their families in metropolitan and country WA. We help children with a disability, learning difficulty or developmental needs to flourish, by providing quality individualised services. This includes children learning skills, developing confidence, independence and participating in the community. We help parents and caregivers to support their child’s development and advocate for their child.

Our therapy toys and resources are used every day by around 50 amazing therapists to make sessions fun and impactful for kids.

Thanks to a generous $5,000 from the Rotary Club of Como, we’ve been able to replace old items and will be adding exciting new toys, making sure our team is ready to support families in 2026!

Some of the Grant Thornton team recently joined us at our Bateman Centre for their annual volunteering day and worked hard to install new sit/stand desks across the centre and lay pavers along one of our pathways.

Our Family Christmas Picnic returned to Piney Lakes Reserve on Sunday, with families enjoying a beautiful morning together.

Huge thanks to Grant Thornton Australia for bringing delicious treats and running the cake stall, and to Resolute Insurance Brokers for managing the BBQ and supplies.

With support from Volunteering WA, Rio Tinto, and BHP, over 100 gifts were bought, wrapped, and delivered to excited children.

Thank you to all the families and partners who make this event so special each year.

✨ It’s OT Week 2025! ✨

This year’s theme, ‘Occupational Therapy in Action’, celebrates the creativity, compassion, and problem-solving that makes OT so impactful.

We asked one of our OTs to describe a common activity that makes therapy fun:

💬 “To make writing tasks a little more interesting, I bring along letters, pictures (like a cat), or small items and hide them around the room. The task gets kids moving and can include balance, strength, and coordination goals by changing how we move, like adding animal walks! Once a letter, image or item is found, we take it to the whiteboard and practice writing the letter, word, or a small sentence. It’s fun, active, and full of learning.”

Our Occupational Therapists are passionate about creating inclusive spaces where all children can participate and shine and that’s OT in action! 🌟
