This Australia Day, we’re pleased to share an important update that reflects our ongoing commitment to accessible, reliable healthcare.

📅 From 16th February, WeCare Health will be extending opening hours until 8:00 PM, ensuring greater access to medical care when it’s needed most.

These extended hours will provide improved availability for GP services, as well as on-site urgent and acute care, particularly during the evening when health concerns often arise after work, school, or daily commitments.

🩺 Our extended hours will support you with:
✔️ General Practitioner (GP) consultations
✔️ On-site urgent and acute care services
✔️ Assessment and management of sudden illnesses
✔️ Professional, timely care in a trusted clinical environment

We understand that acute illness and unexpected health concerns don’t wait for convenient times. Whether it’s a sudden fever, injury, infection, or a medical concern that cannot be delayed, WeCareHealth is here for you — now for longer hours.

With an impressive background in Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Do has honed his skills in quickly recognising and safely managing unwell patients.

His clinical experience is both broad and deep, encompassing a diverse range of patient demographics, which includes both Paediatric and Geriatric care.

This versatility showcases his adaptive approach and commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to all.

Dr. Do has specific interests in Diabetes management, Men’s Health, and Heart Disease. His passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care shines through in every interaction, ensuring that each patient receives personalised attention tailored to their individual needs.

His goal is not only to treat patients but also to empower them in their health journeys.

In addition to his clinical expertise,
Dr. Do is known for his exceptional communication skills. He has a remarkable ability to connect with patients from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, making him a trusted provider who values diversity and inclusivity in healthcare.

Dr. Do believes that understanding and addressing the unique circumstances of each patient is crucial in fostering effective care and building lasting relationships.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Do is an avid rock climber with over a decade of experience. This passion reflects his dedication and discipline, both in his professional and personal life.

🎉 Exciting News at WeCare Health! 🎉

Join us in warmly welcoming Dr. Simon Zhang to our dedicated team! 👨‍⚕️✨

Dr. Zhang is a talented graduate of the University of Sydney and brings a wealth of experience from his time at esteemed institutions like Westmead Hospital, St George Hospital, and Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital.

As an Orthopaedic Registrar, he has honed his skills in surgery, trauma care, and musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr. Zhang is currently undergoing AGPT training as he works towards becoming a GP. His diverse talents allow him to incorporate his orthopedic expertise while providing holistic care to our community. He is passionate about helping patients recover, move better, and get back to doing what they love. 💪🏃‍♂️

When he's not caring for our patients, you can find him diving into a good science fiction book 📚 or enjoying precious moments with his wife and two kids ❤️.

🌞 EXTREME HEAT WARNING🌞

Sweltering temperatures expected across the region over the next few days

WeCare Health encourages everyone in our community to take extra care during this period of extreme heat.

Hot weather can increase the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke — especially for older adults, children, pregnant people, and those with chronic medical conditions.

💧 How to Stay Safe in Hot Weather

• Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks where possible
• Stay out of direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day (11am–4pm)
• Wear light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing
• Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat
• Keep homes cool by closing blinds, using fans, or air conditioning
• Check on family, neighbours, and anyone living alone
• Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles — even for a short time

⚠ Know the Warning Signs of Heat Exhaustion & Heat Stroke

• Dizziness or fainting
• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Muscle cramps
• Confusion or altered behaviour
• Hot, flushed, or dry skin

Dr Prakash Kandel to the WeCare Health team as our GP Registrar.

Dr Kandel completed his MBBS in Nepal in 2019 and brings a wealth of experience from rural Australian and international healthcare settings. His broad clinical background includes emergency medicine, general medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, ICU, and rural general practice.

He is passionate about delivering holistic, patient-centred, and evidence-based care, with a strong focus on preventive health and long-term wellbeing.

Dr Kandel has a particular interest in rural and community health and is working towards a future career as a Rural Generalist.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys travelling, playing cricket, and spending quality time with his family.
