Today we visited
Mulgirigala Raja Maha
Viharaya โ an ancient rock temple carved into the face of a massive stone outcrop, dating all the way back to the 2nd century BC.
A place where time feels slow, sacred, and beautifully still.
If you've ever been to Ridi Viharaya, you'll notice the echoes between the two - similar artistry, similar
serenity... like they're quietly connected through
centuries of devotion and stone.

Indiaโs Quiet Magic ๐ฎ๐ณ ๐งโโ๏ธโจ
Thereโs a particular kind of silence you find in India.
Not the absence of noise,
thereโs always a scooter buzzing somewhere, a rooster announcing the day, or the hiss of chai hitting a hot pot โ but a deeper kind.
A stillness that slows your breath.
That pulls you out of planning and into presence.
We often speak about the bucket list moments, the temples, the train rides, the food, the festivals.
But thereโs another kind of magic woven into every journey: the slow moments.
The unplanned ones.
The ones that donโt make it onto an itinerary but leave a lasting mark anyway. โจ
A morning spent sipping sweet chai on a quiet veranda.
An afternoon beneath a palm, doing absolutely nothing at all.
An evening watching the world go by with no need to be anywhere but here.
Jan is a big believer in the art of doing nothing, and itโs intentionally built into every trip.
Because for so many of us,
life is full of doing.
Full of lists, responsibilities, and caring for others.
So this space ~ this nothingness ~ becomes a kind of radical rest.

I have been fortunate enough to both practice & teach yoga in some absolutely beautiful places - locally & globally ๐
The special thing about sharing yoga with others is that while you are giving the gift of the practice, yogis are receiving so much more
than a stretchy, stronger body.
The lightness, calm, insight, sharing experiences, laughs, adventuring & traveling together, these are some of my favourite pastimes !!!!!

6 Things You Should Know About India ๐งก ๐ฎ๐ณ
1. "Five minutes" is a flexible concept. It could mean five minutes... or an hour.
This teaches you patience.
2. Food is love in edible form. Saying "Have you eaten?" is just another way of saying
โ I care about you."
3. Crowds are part of life.
From markets to temples, personal space is redefined, and you learn to focus even in the busiest environments.
4. The horn is a language.
In India, a car horn can mean "careful - I'm passing".
"... sometimes all at once.
5. Traffic has its own
rhythm. Lanes are suggestions, and somehow,
it works. A reminder that not all order comes from rules.
6. To sum it up, there's beauty in organised chaos.
It might look hectic, but there's an underlying order.
A reminder that life doesn't need to be perfect to work beautifully. ๐ฎ๐ณ
