Rehab isn’t about doing everything perfectly — it’s about showing up for your body, one day at a time.

Pain, stiffness, and setbacks can make recovery feel slow, but consistency matters more than intensity. Every rep, every stretch, every small adjustment adds up to long-term change.

If you’re in recovery, don’t underestimate the power of small, daily actions. They’re what rebuild strength, confidence, and trust in your body.

💪 Progress happens day by day — not all at once.

As you know, over the past 5 years we have developed 45 Mitre Street into a superb purpose-built practice. What you might not know is that our building has a tenancy for lease. We have ~350 sqm, or part thereof, of unused space available. We have recently renovated the toilets, and a lovely open space ready to be developed.

It would suit a complementary health service; educational space; or office space. Currently it is a blank canvas that you can use to create something as beautiful and functional as our practice.

Training hard is easy — training smart is what separates athletes who burn out from those who level up.

Smart athletes don’t just chase intensity. They focus on form, recovery, and mental discipline. They understand that strength isn’t built by ignoring pain — it’s built by knowing when to push, when to pause, and how to adapt.

Injuries, plateaus, fatigue — they’re all part of the process. But with the right awareness and strategy, you can train longer, recover faster, and perform better.

💡 Smart athletes don’t do more — they do better.

🎥 What is Serial Casting and Who Is It For?
Serial casting is a physiotherapy technique used to gently improve joint range of motion by applying a series of casts that gradually stretch tight muscles or soft tissues over time.
It’s commonly used for:🦵 Children with cerebral palsy, toe walking associated with autism (ASD), or Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) to improve ankle position, standing balance, and walking patterns.🧠 Adults following stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological conditions to help reduce muscle stiffness and improve limb positioning.
Each cast is worn for several days to a week, then replaced with a new one that allows a little more stretch — helping restore movement safely and effectively.
✅ Most casts are designed so you can walk and continue daily activities while wearing them.👣 The goal: better movement, improved function, and greater comfort.

Pain is your brain’s way of saying, “Hey, let’s move differently,” not necessarily “something’s wrong.” 🙌
It’s a reminder to shift position, stretch, or take a break — not a sign that you’re broken.
Learning to trust your body and move with confidence helps calm the nervous system and build resilience. 💪
Don’t fear movement — it’s one of the best ways to recover and feel strong again.

The reformer is one of our favourite tools for building strength, mobility and control - especially during rehab. It lets us guide your movement and add resistance or support where you need it.

Rest has its place — but sometimes what your body really needs isn’t stillness, it’s gentle movement. 💪

Active recovery helps your muscles repair, your joints stay mobile, and your body bounce back faster after workouts or long days. Think: a walk, light stretching, or mobility work instead of total rest on the couch.

Your body often heals through movement, not just from it. Remember motion is lotion.

🎉 Congratulations, Suzanne Patterson! 🎉
We’re so excited to celebrate our patient Suzanne Patterson on the release of her debut children’s picture book, Mooshy Crackerjack’s Big Day!

Suzanne has created a joyful story that celebrates all the best things in life: family, friends, birthday parties, cute cats, and the beautiful chaos that comes with it all. Written with humour and heart, and brought to life by Maia Bataumashvili’s vibrant illustrations, Mooshy Crackerjack’s Big Day is a story that will make children smile from ear to ear.

✨ Congratulations, Suzanne, on this wonderful achievement!

Healing isn’t instant — it’s a process your body carefully coordinates over time. Inflammation, rebuilding, remodelling, and reloading all play their part. Each phase needs the right balance of rest and movement to guide recovery.
That’s where physiotherapy helps — knowing when to protect, when to move, and how to rebuild safely.
