Starting therapy can feel… a bit daunting.
You might be wondering:
“What do I even say?”
“Will they judge me?”
“What if I don’t know where to start?”
Here’s what you can expect 👇
🔹 It’s okay to feel nervous
Most people do. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you walk in.
🔹 You don’t have to “have the right words”
You can start anywhere—what’s been on your mind lately, what’s been hard, or even just “I don’t know where to begin.”
🔹 It’s a safe, non-judgmental space
Therapists are there to understand, not to judge or “fix” you.
🔹 You’ll go at your own pace
There’s no pressure to share everything right away. Trust builds over time.
🔹 It’s a conversation, not an interrogation
It’s okay to ask questions, pause, reflect, or even sit in silence.
🔹 You might not feel ‘better’ instantly—and that’s okay
Therapy is a process, not a quick fix. Small steps still count.
💬 A gentle reminder:
You’re allowed to ask for support.
Starting therapy doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you, it means you’re choosing to take care of yourself.
If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, this might be your sign.
You don’t have to do it alone.
