They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them

Halloween is over now…
so don’t you dare complain when I pull the Christmas decorations out this week.

Because listen,
I’ve been patient.
I’ve given October her moment.
I’ve let the pumpkins shine and the skeletons dance.
But now?
Now it’s Christmas world and we’re all just living in it.

I want twinkling lights, cozy blankets, hot cocoa, and a little sparkle to get me through these cold days.
If joy comes in the form of Christmas music in November, let people have their joy.

Because the world could use a little more magic right now…
and mine just happens to smell like cinnamon and sound like “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

🚗 One Crash. Three Postures. Three Fates.
Most people don’t think about it — but the way you sit in a car can decide whether you walk away from an accident… or never walk again.
When an airbag deploys, it doesn’t gently inflate — it explodes outward at over 300 km/h.
If you’re sitting upright, seatbelt on, feet on the floor — that force is absorbed safely, exactly how the system was designed.
But if your feet are on the dashboard, everything changes.
That same explosion can drive your knees into your face, break your legs, or crush your hips in an instant.
Even crossing your legs or slouching can twist your body into positions your bones can’t survive when the impact hits.
We tell ourselves, “It’s just a short trip” or “I’m just relaxing for a second.”
But crashes don’t wait for you to sit right.
So next time you buckle up — remember this rule:
🦶 Feet down.
🔒 Seatbelt on.
💪 Back straight.
Because comfort lasts a moment — but safety lasts a lifetime. 🚦

As the weather warms up, snakes are becoming more active — and sightings will become more common across our region. Already some big slithery friends have been spotted.

Please take care when walking outside, working in the garden, or exploring local bushland. I recently met with local first aid trainer Kylie from Industry Training and Assessment Services and snake catcher Stef from Wild Woofers Snake Catching, Pet Sitting and Dog Walking ahead of snake season and here is what I learnt -
✅ Stay alert
✅ Keep yards tidy
✅ Watch where you step
⚠️ If you see a snake, do not approach it — contact a local certified snake catcher immediately.
❎Do not harm or trap the snake, just monitor its movements until the snake catcher arrives.
✅Have a snake bite first aid kit.
⚠️If bitten, limit movement and apply a pressure bandage. Call 000.

Snakes are a common occurrence in regional areas so it is important to know what to do if you see one or if you get bitten. Under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, all native reptiles (including snakes) in NSW are protected. It is illegal to harm, kill or capture a native snake without proper licence/authority.
