I am retiring at the end of March 2026, once the currently booked patients have delivered.
We have not been taking bookings from patients due in April and after.
I will have been delivering babies for 52 years in 2026 and will have been an obstetrician at the SAN Hospital for 40 years in February 2026. I have delivered over 15,000 babies.
Being an obstetrician has given me so much joy. It has been wonderful to support so many fabulous patients at one of the most important times of life.
I thank you for trusting me with your care and your baby’s care.

How much weight gain is healthy during pregnancy?
Weight gain varies, but around 12–14kg is considered typical. Gaining too much can affect both your health and your baby’s, and may be harder to lose postpartum.

"I have itchy hands and feet..."
It’s often harmless - but if the itching is on your palms or soles, it’s worth mentioning to your doctor. In some cases, it can be a sign of a temporary liver condition called obstetric cholestasis, which can be managed with the right care.
