It’s been a big morning.

We had an exciting start to the year with floods up this way. QSEC (Queensland State Equestrian Centre) were amazing in providing emergency stabling to Sylvie, Xmas and Tina, helping keep them dry and cosy from the soaking rain.

Back in the paddocks now, picking our way through puddles to avoiding getting our tootsies wet! 🥰

Meet "Sylvie", resident of the City of Moreton Bay!

Sylvie came to visit QSEC when her home paddock went under water during the New Year storms--

She, along with 9 other horses in the region, were able to evacuate before floodwaters became unsafe thanks to the fast action of their lovely owners enacting their flood readiness plans. These owners were able to move them to QSEC (Queensland State Equestrian Centre)'s stable complex, thanks to an early activation by CMB's Local Disaster Coordination Centre!

The horses were able to return home safely as soon as the water receded.

A big thanks to the City of Moreton Bay and the disaster team for making our centre available to ensure the safety of our equine friends!
