On behalf of the BMOW Management Committee, Staff and our dedicated volunteers, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. May 2026 bring good health and happiness.

We would also like to extend our sincere Thank-you to all of the local business sector and community groups for your continued support of our service this past twelve months, particularly individuals who go above and beyond with support and assistance to help give our clients that little something special during this time of the year.

This week we had a BMOW delivery van 'flat tyre' challenge. This type of challenge is particularly tricky due to our specific delivery time frames we have to adhere to for frozen meals.

It was the quick thinking problem-solution from Bob Christensen and our local sponsor, Peter from Scenic Ford as they arranged a temporary delivery van and new tyre.

and our BMOW local sponsor, Scenic Ford for your wonderful support and commitment to BMOW.

We certainly do live in a wonderful community.

Happy FriYAY ☺ to all our Clients and Volunteers.

Our BMOW premises, 52 William Street, Beaudesert is looking fab with the car park nearly finished including carpark concrete, individual car park spaces, loading area lines, and carport erected for our vehicles.

It's certainly been hectic at BMOW with our renovations at 52 William St, Beaudesert. Thankyou for your patience and understanding. Please note that due to earth works including concreting, the back car park is currently off limits until 9 June 2025.

📣 As Day 1 of National Volunteer Week continues, we’re honoured to share a message from our Joint Patrons, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD.

Their message recognises the 6,500+ Meals on Wheels Queensland volunteers, including kitchen crews, delivery drivers, committee members, and behind-the-scenes helpers—who support more than 22,000 clients across 142 communities. ✨

From everyone at Meals on Wheels Queensland: thank you for giving your time, your heart, and your care. You are what keeps this movement strong. 💛

Dear Clients, Families & Scenic Rim Community

The latest QLD Govt forecasts and Council's Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) and Disaster Dashboard, predict that Tropical Cyclone Alfred will cross the South East QLD coast in the coming days as a Category 2 System.

BMOW would like to reassure you that we are committed to continuing meal deliveries and pastoral care to our clients wherever possible. We are working together with LDMG to meet the needs of our ageing, vulnerable, at risk members across the Scenic Rim.

BMOW is also implementing contingency plans to manage potential disruptions such as storage and delivery of additional meal supplies.

Please note it is highly likely there will be necessary 'fluid' changes to our usual services.

BMOW's Board apologises in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

NB: Possible changes may include:

💢Different volunteers delivering your meals at different times;

💢Pastoral care and follow up phone calls from different BMOW staff and volunteers incl from emergency front line personnel eg QPS/Australian Army/Community Disaster Volunteers; and

💢 Ajustments to the usual delivery schedule Thursday NOT Friday.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and flexibility during this natural disaster crisis period.
