Parents try one of these next time your child or teen is worrying and you don't know what to say! Parents often tell me they don't know what to say or do when their child is worrying. They want to help but they too feel stuck. Here are three examples of things you can say instead of "don't worry about it". Notice they all include validation and they also encourage your child or teen to see their thoughts from a different perspective by using their noticing skill.
