Asthma treatment in Australia has changed. Is your action plan up to date?

Asthma management guidelines have evolved in recent years, with many Australians no longer advised to rely on a blue reliever inhaler alone.

For many adolescents and adults, even those with mild asthma, combination inhalers (containing both a preventer and a fast-acting reliever) are now recommended. Evidence shows this approach can reduce flare-ups and lower the risk of hospital presentations. There are also additional add-on therapies and biologic treatments available for people living with severe asthma.

Regular review matters.

If you or your child haven’t updated your asthma action plan recently, it may be time for a check-in.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, an important time to raise awareness about a condition that affects around 1 in 9 Australian women and people assigned female at birth by age 44. Endometriosis can cause significant pain, fatigue and fertility challenges, and for many people it can take years to receive a diagnosis.
